My self-summary Propose an edit

Ok...here goes...I am almost 42 years old and going through a divorce with a man I was married to for 18 years! No problem though, we are both better off and I am finally experiencing the simple thought of "happy". Not that I wasn't happy over the last 18 years...just seemed as though too much had happened and once it does, you honestly can't go back. Life has a way of slapping you in the face sometimes, and all too often the scars last forever. No, I'm not talking about cheating....that I could deal with...if you are interested in me, I'll explain my life chaging event and "wake up call" with you if you're interested!

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

Right now, other than the divorce and other another civil case preparing for court, I am working on my M.S. degree in Psychology and Statistics. I am employed full-time in my chosen profession, and LOVE my work. I have two children living at home, ages 17 and 12. So any free time that I may have has been occupied, but I am THRILLED to use up my time with my children! They are the center of my existence. I coach my daughter's middle school cheer squad, and attend all football games for the local high school!!! I love to read, love to write and consider myself to be very creative.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

I would say that I am at my best when I have pen to paper and am doing some creative writing. I love it when an instructor gives me a topic and turns me loose to research, strategize and report.
I am also creative with the sewing machine. I design purses and tote-bags and make them to sell locally and via the internet.
My communication is exceptional as long as my words are written, I am not so good at verbal communication. Still a little insecure with the public speaking concept.

I have been told that my eyes are the first thing you see when you look at me....then my smile.
In the summer months, I keep a nice tan and I always think that that is attractive, as long as the skin doesn't turn "leathery" looking and dry. Other than that, people tend to say that I am a "people person" and try to get along with anyone I meet in my professional and personal space.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

Currently reading a book called "Secret Societies" by Michael Howard. It's one of those that you really have to be interested in before you read, but I am enjoying it. Prior to that, I read "2012: The Return of Quetzacoatl" by Daniel Pinchbeck. It was ok at best, but his theories are absolutely those of a previous "stoner" looking to excuse his behavior! Normally, if I not reading a textbook or a journal article to critique, I enjoy reading Steven King, Anne Rice, and even some J.K. Rowling. My daughter's recent interest in R.L. Stein, has submerged me into the pre-teen drama books and I am embarrassed to say that I have found myself so engulfed that I was "page-turning" quicker that my daughter!!!!!

"What if" things.....
I don't like to question the authority of the "higher powers that be" but I often spend time questioning my choices, my perception of reality, and the "why's" that make up a pessimistic person. I don't like to think of myself as a pessimist, but the reality is that is the way I approach things that could "hurt" me... that way I don't get disappointed very often. I like to think logically about things that I read and hear, and that sometimes throws me into an entirely different topic than I started with!

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

Until November....You will find me at a local High School football game, supporting my kid's team, or the team of my friends' children. I LOVE football, and watch college and NFL on tv. This is the time of year I look forward to. In the winter, I'll be at home either sewing, reading or studying. In the summer, I go to the dirt track races in my hometown...makes for a good time when you have good company!
