My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a teacher, student, and philosopher of life. I am an uncle, brother, son, and grandson. I am a liberal and passionate about many causes and the the world in general. I'm a sailor, fisherman, and snowboarder. I'm a nerd, a geek, and outdoorsman. I'm quick with the wit and frequently push the envelope with sarcasm. I'm a reader, writer, and usually enjoy providing a commentary for nearly anything. I'm a small town boy from Northern Michigan living in a Capital Hill world, after 10 years of living in the mountains (Summit County and Winter Park). I think that's enough for now.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
One class this summer will finally bring my MA that has been taking so much of my time. It's already worth it though, as I have just accepted a new job teaching technology at a brand new 1:1 laptop charter school. I'm excited to be able to build the curriculum and program from the ground up.

I've recently been working on my mind reading skills with 4th graders, but I don't seem to have it down.

Oh... my summer plans include a trip to Michigan to meet my new baby nephew and a little Telluride Bluegrass Festival. and lots of fishing!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Lots of things... and not so much others...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I wear glasses. If they don't notice this, they may need some too.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Oh.. I love books... my latest and greatest favorite authors include Christopher Moore, Yann Martel, Bill Bryson, and a bunch of children's authors. I also love the old fallbacks too... you know the Vonneguts, Tom Wolfe, yadda yadda yadda

I like all sorts of films. My recent favorites include Superbad (if you only knew me in high school), Supertroopers (to keep with the "Super" theme), and Pan's Labrynth (had to pick something else that isn't a comedy). I tend to like more independant films that actually have a little deeper meaning within them too.

MUSIC! I am a complete and total music freak, as you would notice looking at my 250 GB on my itunes. The range of my taste is great... on Sunday mornings, I always seem to be listening to French Cafe type music. I'm also a big fan of jazz in the morning, maybe some Coltrane or Louis Armstrong or Ella Fitzgerald. I'm a huge fan of Manu Chao. My reggae collection is extensive and always makes my soul smile. And then I have to mention the whole "hippy" jam band music scene which I love (well, I don't like the scene, but I love the music). I've loved the Grateful Dead since I was in early high school, am way over Phish, and love the rock and rolll aspect of Widespread Panic. Yeah.. I really like some good solid rock and roll... AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Wolfmother, and stuff like that. OH.. and I have a mellow side too which includes being a Nick Drake fanatic and Mason Jennings. Pretty much name it, and I might just like it. I've kind of been digging on Death Cab for Cutie and some other more "indie" music lately too.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Books, my snowboard, my fly rod, water, delicious food, and chai.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
the mysteries of the universe.

What is going to happen as we enter the age of the 5th sun on 12/21/12? Yes, I think our world is going to change in a way we don't yet comprehend. How can all of the religions of the world be true? How can it be explained? Why do all of the world's religions tell many of the same stories? Hmmm... can ancient alien theory explain all of this?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I believe in ghosts and aliens. I think they will be explained when we figure out the general theory of everything. Yeah... I'm a nerd who believes some version of string theory holds the answers to the universe's mysteries.
