Originally from Philadelphia, I've lived most of my adult life in SF, with about four years in Asia. I love life here and this is definitely home, but, I think I'm still more east coast at my core than west coast.

Tech, writing, and investments, in a nutshell.

Scrabble (competitively ranked, for real), cycling, being a friend, cooking Thai food (trained while living in Bangkok, somewhat self-taught in friends' restaurants), anything involving the printed word. Don't know if i'm 'really' good at it, but I got really into ping pong in the last year. I also give good conversation.

"That's weird, he has a dorsal fin.".........Can usually line up the buttons and button holes on my shirts, curious, pretty good at figuring things out.

Books and other reading matter: The Imperfectionists, Raymond Chandler, James Cain, assorted noir, Philip Roth, Ian McEwan, Nick Hornby, New Yorker, Economist.

Shows: Just saw Book of Mormon. Believe the hype. Don't do much TV. Nothing against it. It's just that something had to give in a busy life. I have consumed The Sopranos and The Wire on DVD, and always remember how much I love 30 Rock and The Daily Show when I occasionally catch them.

Music: Beatles, rockabilly, White Stripes, Cash, Dylan, Adele, the Clash, Buddy Holly, Zeppelin, Wilco--anything I can butcher on my guitar--the rock and roll canon, essentially. Charlie Parker, Stan Getz, Miles Davis, and about 25,000 other things on my iPod.

Food: Asian, Italian, salads, sushi, farmers market fruits & veggies, the occasional medium-rare burger.
