I am comical, sincere, and adventurous.
My Self-Summary
I'm a huge fan of showing people a good time and making others
laugh. I like traveling, checking out new restaurants and cool
places, and exploring LA and OC. I work security at rock concerts,
substitute teach and do a bit of comedy writing on the side and I
think it gives me a good perspective into how people are. I guess,
I'm just a people person first and foremost.
Also, I'm really into live music (alternative and rock, especially)
and I like to keep in shape and hike and get outdoors whenever I
can.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to make sense of it. Would be cool to find someone along the
way to admit that they are as clueless as I am about how complex it
is. ;)
Oh, and I'm going to grad school to eventually become a
psychologist. But that's just boring academic minutia and I don't
want to put you to sleep. Although, if you do want to know...by all
means, ask away!
I’m really good at
Board games and crossword puzzles. I have a pretty good vocabulary
so it's usually easier for me. Damn, maybe I should have said rock
climbing or base jumping, something heroic like that, right?
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes or my smile, I think.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books - Anything by Stephen King, High Fidelity, Animal Farm,
Sophie's Choice, East of Eden, The Invisible Man, People's History
of the United States
Movies - Too many to name but here's a couple: Into the Wild and
School of Rock.
TV - Time stops when The Office comes on every week: no movement,
no comments, I need to hear everything, hehe.
Also 30 Rock and Entourage are great, as well. I've been watching a
lot of Chicago Hope online on Hulu, very well-done show, acting is
excellent. Also The Wire on HBO is another truly great show.
Music - Alternative, Punk, Soul, Hip Hop, Reggae, many, many more;
I've been listening to some early Stones and stuff by The Hives,
there's a lot of great energy in it.
Food - Sushi!!!, Chinese, Seafood, BBQ (Lucille's!), and a really
well-made crumb apple pie will make my toes curl.
The six things I could never do without
Laptop, friends, family, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Books (of any
variety), MP3 player (sounds shallow but I would go crazy on a
desert island if I had to listen to the ocean 50 years straight)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lots and lots of everything. It's a curse and a blessing, I
suppose.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing something atypical. I try to mix it up. Maybe a bar, maybe a
comedy show, maybe a movie, anything that is different but
interesting.
I've also been taking apart that book, "2001 Things to Do Before
You Die"...this week I have to: grow an amaryllis, do a 'mitzvah',
and memorize the prologue of Chaucer's 'Canterbury Tales' in Middle
English.
Never a dull moment lol.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I go to movies by myself sometimes. And then, if no one else is in
the theater, I make comments during the movie...I pretend like I'm
Howard Hughes in my own private screening room.
You should message me if
You like me and my profile...I would hope that you would leave the
game playing on the basketball court where it should be reserved
for Kobe and Pau (had to get in a World Champion Lakers reference,
just had to :-)
Side note - However, don't message me if:
1)You get bored easily (bad for relationships)
2)You're just looking to have fun (again, bad for relationships)
