I am insightful, gentlemanly, and intuitive.

My Self-Summary

I'm a pretty easy-going person. Shy at first, but I warm up pretty quickly.

My hobbies are pretty much arts, or sports, related. Literature, poetry, music, movies, museums, etc. I also like to write.

My favorite kind of movies are Dramas and Romantic Comedies, but I definitely have a broad range that I like...and that goes for music as well. Nowadays, I prefer Acoustic Rock, and a lot of the Indie bands - The Dave Matthews Band, The Decemberists, The Shins, Jack Johnson, Death Cab for Cutie, etc. I like a lot of Classic Rock too, more of the Psychedelic variety - Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan (well, Dylan's Folk-Rock, which is another genre I'm into). I also like Jazz from the 50s and 60s (classified "Bop") like John Coltrane and Miles Davis, and Classical (i.e.: Bach, Vivaldi, Haydn).

Qualities I look for in a person...hmmm... Kind-hearted, compassionate, an ability to empathize with others, and see different sides of an issue, or how a person may look at things. Independent, yet wanting a close friendship with their significant other, as well, I think that's important to have both. Not just one, not just the other. Intelligent, but doesn't take themselves too seriously. A good sense of humor. Someone that likes to go out and do stuff once in a while, but is also comfortable doing things at home. Someone that likes to talk about "why the world goes 'round", and curious as to why things might be what they are. Not materialistic...real.

I have an awesome 14-year-old daughter, to whom I'm very close, and lives with me half-time.

What I’m doing with my life

I work in the IT industry, which doesn't really match up with my interests and personality, but it pays the bills. :-)

I’m really good at

I've been told that I'm really good at reading, and relating to people.

The first things people usually notice about me

Physically? Eyes, probably. Otherwise, a touch of shyness, that comes off with repeated washings. :-)
I'm eventually pretty outspoken most of the time. What you see, is what you get.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Wow, so much of all... Books - Ulysses, Leaves of Grass, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay come to mind, although it's been a while since I've tapped them, as I usually like to move on to the next; I'm also a fan of Shakespeare. Movies - Garden State, Wonder Boys (in another life, I'd like to be a Professor/Writer), Good Will Hunting (to be able to read that fast!). TV - Six Feet Under, The Shield, Damages, Rescue Me, Battlestar Galactica (the new one). Music, I pretty much covered in the summary. On the food front, I'm a (lacto-ovo-pesco) vegetarian, but am pretty open, otherwise.

The six things I could never do without

1) My Daughter.
2) Books.
3) Journal/Pen.
4) Movies.
5) Music.
6) Curiosity.

(Oh, no...what am I going to do without oxygen or food? Oops...)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Abstract thoughts, really. Kinda nice in my world. :-)

On a typical Friday night I am

Well, being that Friday nights are the nights my daughter goes out with friends, it's my night to cut loose and get crazy. Oh, wait - I always forget to do that... :-P I usually wind up with a good book while listening to music, or cranking up the DVD player.

Have I mentioned that I'm not good at selling myself???

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

We'll play that by ear later.

You should message me if

...if you want.
