I am intelligent, silly, and caring.

My Self-Summary

The basics: I'm caring, intelligent, laid back, honest, active, and compassionate. I love being in the city but like escaping to nature from time to time, enjoy sports, try to bike wherever I can, like hanging out with friends and family (though they are far away), love seeing live music, enjoy going out to restaurants and bars sometimes but also like staying in to cook and chill on the couch/porch sometimes as well. I enjoy all four seasons, but adore the autumn air and changing trees and Halloween. I even enjoy the winter in Minneapolis, though I wouldn't complain if it were a tad shorter!

What I’m doing with my life

I'm an attorney with a small firm in Minneapolis. Luckily, it's not one of those firms where I have to work 80 hours a week! They let me out to play at reasonable hours.
Currently I'm spending a lot of time looking for a condo or house to move to...I'm venturing into the world of ownership, and it kinda freaks me out!

I’m really good at

Using 2-letter words in Scrabble to the annoyance of most others, getting geography questions right in trivia, cooking chili.

The first things people usually notice about me

Probably my height. It doesn't help that I've always had friends who are well over 6' tall.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I'm slowing working my way through a Betrand Russell book, and at the current pace I'm going, I'll be done by 2012. I read all day long for work, so I honestly don't read books for fun often. Unless its a cook book. I do, however, read up on the news on the internet, and will find myself lost in a spiraling chain of wikipedia articles, usually about random ancient history. Oh, and I rarely miss the weekly Onion and City Pages.

Movies: Not particularly picky here - whatever the mood calls for.

Music: As I'm sure you gathered from the username, I love music. It has been and probably always will be something that I devote a lot of energy to. The list of bands I like could go on and on, but to give a quick overview, bands like Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie, The Hold Steady, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Kills, Les Savy Fav, Interpol, Mogwai, Muse, Broken Social Scene, Bright Eyes, Ryan Adams, Pink Floyd, The Decemberists and on and on. I'm mostly a fan of indie rock, but will listen to just about anything that strikes me. I love going to shows and have seen quite a few this year. I recently got a record player, so my new hobby is scouring garage sales for classic rock records.

Food: I'm an avid cook, and will cook everything from kale to beef, using as many ethnic styles as I can, though the mainstays are mexican, italian, and eastern asian. I bought a farm share for the first time this year, so I have tons of vegetables to use each week, and its a lot of fun figuring out what to do with them all! I still cook a lot of meat; sorry to the vegetarians out there! When not cooking, I enjoy going out for sushi, thai or just a great burger somewhere.

The six things I could never do without

1. Music
2. Autumn
3. Softball nights on Wednesdays
4. My bike
5. Good beer
6. The internet, sadly

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The many bicycle trips through Europe I am longing to go on.

On a typical Friday night I am

Seeing live music somewhere, grabbing a couple of drinks with friends, or just hanging out on the porch, people-watching.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Horror movies turn me into a scared, screaming school girl.
