My self-summary
I'm me... I'm smart [according to SOMEONE'S scale?], make myself laugh [not sure about "funny"... but], kinda shy and awkward at first, laid back, little bit of a geek, and a little bit of a nerd. Try not to be too much of a dork? I like being creative and work with my hands, whether its cooking, working on bicycles, building furniture, or doodling on paper. Love learning to create new things too! Lately I've been learning to make chain mail jewelry, learning to knit [harder than it looks!], and last summer I tried my hand at home brew beer [48 bottles of American Peach-Wheat Ale... Only one bottle went realllllly bad, lol!]. Love all kinds of foods, but I stay away from the sugary stuff as much as possible...[type 2 diabetic]. Prefer to stay away from the club scene, big crowds are not my thing. Prefer smaller gatherings with friends, like a dinner/potluck thing or a movie-craft-game night. I can clean up alright if needed though. Originally from SE Missouri. Moved up here to go to college at MCAD in 1999 and 14 years later, still learning to navigate the city... lol!
What I’m doing with my life
VERY recently shifted my employment. Have been "employment deficient" off and on over the last few years due to the economy, and getting jobs in already unstable fields, BUT... Landed a position repairing/refurbishing surgical instruments (forceps, scissors, clamps, etc.) for an international, top of the line surgical instrument design/fabrication company. Super demanding and super rewarding! The tools I make like new could be used to save a life next week! NO pressure there, right?!?! LoL

Outside of that, I'm picking up whatever odd jobs I can to make ends meet and enjoying the simple pleasures in my life...

Been doing bicycle tuneups/repairs/rebuilds for friends lately. Pretty lucrative gig for something I can do in my living room... lol! Just need a few more tools and a lot more clients! Haha

If I'm not working, then I'm hanging out at home watching HULU with my cat, out fishing, or I'm hanging out somewhere in MPLS with friends.
I’m really good at
Designing, building, troubleshooting, winging it, imagining, making...

Being kind of an introvert?
The first things people usually notice about me
Summer: Tattoos ---> "Holes" in my ears.

Winter: Big beard [I let it really take off in August/September]---> "Holes" in my ears
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Lately, i do more listening than reading it seems...? Ive developed a liking for audiobooks because i can kind of multi-task with them. [As long as im not trying to listen to a book and do anything else that requires reading, like surfing the net... lol.] Right now im "reading" "A Dance with Dragons"-George RR Martin, "The Daylight War"- Peter V Brett, and [trying to start] "Ready Player One"- Ernest Cline. My literary tastes usually hover in the realms of SciFi, Fantasy, Horror, DIY/Craft, and occasionally autobiographical stuff by writers like Hunter Thompson, etc.

Same as my taste in books... Go figure! I have a soft spot for movies that use well done makeup and prosthetics for their creatures instead of relying on computer effects. Thirteen Ghosts, no matter how bad the story was, will always be a favorite because of this... lol! Love the animated Pixar-type stuff too! Honestly, the only genre im not gung-ho about is the depressing drama. Life has enough opportunity to depress you. Why pay money to watch a film that does it too?!?!

Like [or will try to listen to] almost anything except new country and mainstream rap. WILL turn off your car radio/stereo if you listen to anyone remotely similar to Rush Limbaugh. Actually, i will get OUT of the car... Maybe even while its moving, if you listen to Limbaugh or Glen Beck. Dont really care if thats rude. :)

I like everything else, mostly...?
The six things I could never do without
Unless im shipwrecked on an island, theres only a few things i cant do without... lol!

Id say my must-haves are:
A source of income
Insulin/Diabetes meds
Good, HEALTHY food [TRYING to keep my diet heading this direction anyway]

Its also NICE to have:
The whole iPhone/computer/internet thing
A creative outlet [Actually, this should prolly go in the "never do without" list]
My cat, "Danger"... :)
On a typical Friday night I am
I dunno... I just play it by ear. Im just as happy hanging out wherever with friends as i am staying in and watching a show or movie on TV. Also, lately ive enjoyed cooking for/with the neighbors or friends and just hanging out on our back deck.
LOVE early/late winter!!! You can have the hot n' humid days of Summer... Well, the humid days for sure. Too much moisture in the air and I melt. [Yes... I AM that sweet!] ;)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
There is no amount of alcohol in the world that will ever get me to:

A) Sing karaoke...

B) Dance ANYTHING but a slow dance...
[Even then, i might need some liquid courage...]

Sorry ladies, it's for your own safety. I have no singing voice, no rhythm, and my center of gravity is somewhere up between my ears. It's honestly a miracle that I ever learned to ride a bike... Or WALK for that matter!
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 34–39
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
...if you want to hang out with no expectations and no pressure. You should NOT message me if you're expecting a boyfriend or a "sleep-over" in the first few dates. Dating can be awkward enough without that drama... Like to figure out if we can be friends first, then we can rush into all the rest! Haha
