My self-summary
In lieu of using descriptive words like ‘easy-going’ and ‘fun-loving’, here are some fun facts:

I would rather ride a bike for 20 miles than run for 2.
If I could do it over again, I would either be a chef or an astrophysicist.
Life’s too short to drink shitty beer.
On second thought, life’s just too short.
I could eat breakfast for every meal.
I don’t anger easily. Except when other drivers don’t use their turn signal.
Live and let live.
People never cease to amaze me, in both good and bad ways.
I’m relaxed when I’m working in my garage with the radio blasting and a beer in my hand.
I geek out when Space is mentioned. I wanna go there.
I played baseball for 12 years. I miss it.
I like hearing other people talk about their passions. Tell me about yours!
Someday, I want to own an Aston Martin, and drive around wearing a tuxedo.
I also want to own a 1960s Jag E-type, an Audi R8, and a Citroen DS.
Irony makes me laugh, and puns make me roll my eyes. Then laugh.
It is better to burn out than to fade away.
Soccer makes me more patriotic than any Toby Keith song ever could.
I believe beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and that quality is better than quantity.
I giggled like a schoolgirl when I first played pond hockey. I was 26 years old. Big hockey fan.
I'm a car nut. It's not been officially diagnosed, but all the symptoms are there.
I was raised in the South, so I love grits, college football, and am required by law to say "ma'am" (stereotypes wouldn't be stereotypes if they weren't true...).
Cooking is my favorite hobby.
What I’m doing with my life
I work for an engineering firm that makes racing engines, so I get to travel to IndyCar races and work on race cars. Racing and traveling: this is absolutely my dream job. It is something that I am passionate about, and it makes me very happy.

I strive to get out of my comfort zone as often as possible, usually by trying new things. I think you learn more about yourself that way. I have a strong curiosity that drives me to learn about everything. Everything. I want to be a jack of all trades.

This almost sounds cliche, but I love traveling. I've had clam chowder in Boston, red wine in Sonoma, poutine in Toronto, beer in Milwaukee, and steak in Sao Paulo. I've worn a kimono in Kyoto, played golf at St. Andrews, kissed the Blarney Stone, and played with elephants in Thailand. And I want more.

I'm looking for good company and a solid connection. And fun! If something more serious progresses out of that, then all the better.
I’m really good at
Air guitar! Cooking, driving, and tinkering with things.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm fairly reserved and like to observe what is going on around me. I love just taking in my surroundings, living in the moment. Others have described me as: old-fashioned, minimalistic, curious, scientific, engaged, focused.

Or my laugh. I've been told it's pretty distinctive. And loud haha.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Rocket Men, The Art of Zen and Motorcycle Maintenance, Cooking for Geeks, The Art of Racing in the Rain. A Short History of Nearly Everything (by Bill Bryson) is the best book I've ever read.

Casino Royale, V for Vendetta, Watchmen, Stranger Than Fiction, Le Mans, Fight Club, Pulp Fiction, Twister, Se7en, Death Proof, Inglourious Bastards, Boondock Saints, The Departed, Tron:Legacy, Shooter, The Italian Job, Goldeneye, Skyfall, Les Miserables

Top Gear, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Sherlock, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, SportsCenter, Good Eats, Conan, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, How It's Made, pretty much anything on the Cooking Channel

Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, Deftones, Alter Bridge, Chevelle, The Offspring, The Raconteurs, Pantera, Down, Audioslave, Daft Punk, Michael Buble, Van Halen, The White Stripes, The Beatles, Green Day, Hans Zimmer, Lynyrd Skynyrd, John Mayer (the bluesy one, not the poppy one), Queen, Ronald Jenkees, Alicia Keys, any blues or jazz I can get my hands on

I love to cook and try new foods! Japanese, Mexican, Indian, Italian, Creole, whatever. I took a Thai cooking class when I was in Bangkok and loved it. Going to awesome restaurants and brewpubs is my favorite. I like any and all things food, wine, and beer related.
The six things I could never do without
-Falling asleep with the window open
-Driving with the top down as the sun sets
-Those meals that you will never forget because of good food, drink, company, or all of the above
-Curiosity, exploration, knowledge
-When that song comes on at just the right time
-Laughing
I spend a lot of time thinking about

What I will be doing in 5 years (celebrating the 5th anniversary of writing this down)
