My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I've avoided filling out this profile since I joined, but figure it is now time. The format is a bit hindering, but you can't very well have any luck on a site like this with an empty profile, can you?

I grew up overseas, though I wasn't an army brat. I lived in Sri Lanka for 7 years and had the opportunity to travel throughout childhood. I miss this.

I suppose I'm pretty easy going. I try not to take life too seriously. Stress kills.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Who knows? I'm often thinking about it.

I wish I could do something creative with my life at the moment - something that would allow me to move about freely. The thought of 2 weeks off a year and being stuck in the same place is a bit terrifying. Even if it is New York.

Does anybody ever figure this out entirely?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Understanding people. Being empathetic. Putting people at ease.

Accents (well, I like to think so). One of my friends says I'm very impish.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I never ask.

The best (and I suppose, worst) things about me have to be learned.

I have been told that I have an "All-American/Corporate" look. I don't find that flattering. I can assure that I'm not corporate in any sense of the word and wouldn't really describe myself as All American.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Right now - Tenth of December by George Saunders and Slavery by Another Name (nonfiction). Next -- Naomi Klein's book about climate change and capitalism.

I'm a huge film buff and always down for some moviegoing. I won't make a list (as that is impossible), but I'm open to anything. Hollywood just churns out a bunch of shit.

Shows - Again, a little bit of everything. List could go on forever. I like how this medium is changing, allowing for content that wouldn't previously have appealed to the masses on broadcast TV. Would definitely recommend Transparent to anyone with access to Amazon. Also, one of my favorites -- The Up Series. Look it up. It's great!

Music - Almost everything, I spend a lot of time on Spotify. Most recently -- Donovan, Vetiver, Punch Brothers, Foxygen, Townes Van Zandt, Inside Llewyn Davis and that genre, The Books, Emmit Rhodes, Beck, Leonard Cohen, Future Islands, Caribou, Animal Collective, Talking Heads, The Feelies, Elvis Costello, Pixies, Unkown Mortal Orchestra, Cate le Bon, Alvvays, Joni Mitchell. This could go on forever........

I rarely meet a food I don't like.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The ability to travel.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Finding a career that I'm going to enjoy and find fulfillment in.

A beach in South Asia.

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At happy hour and seeing what comes aboot.

It comes to mind.

You want to grab a drink or go for a walk. I'm a lot more interesting than this profile will allow me to be. (I hope).
