My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I traveled for the first time internationally this year and it was a pseudo-pilgrimage. I visited my little brother in Nepal and we made our way to Lumbini to visit the Maya Devi Temple which is the purported birthplace of the Buddha. Honestly, it was tough and the trip back really turned out to be more difficult than anticipated. But it was an eye-opening journey.

I've grown to appreciate my life but the trip, with all the lucid dreams I had in Nepal, confirmed that I need to be more concentrated on my creative endeavors. I'm a writer, a sketch artist with pencils and ink, a beatmaker, and a Buddhist. Recently, I've decided to write a novel, a noir piece set in 1940s Portland. This was the central dream I had in Nepal and the book is essentially about wishing good things happened to good people, instead of the frequent, bad things happening to good people.

I've just decided to withdraw a bit and practice more writing and penciling, in addition to reading a lot more novels, graphic or otherwise. I am still practicing martial arts and meditation regularly but for the time being a lot of my free time goes into researching my novel and writing short stories that may one day be submitted to printed magazines.

More generally, I'm a dog owner, a lover of good television shows (the Wire being my all time favorite), a gamer (boardgames and rpgs exclusively, not a console guy), a comic nerd and a fantasy, science-fiction geek. I'm also a rather sexual individual who loves exploring this often hidden side of my personality, especially with other like-minded people.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
"I'm having a ball. Scrapping and yelling and mixing it up. Loving every minute with this damn crew."

But seriously...

These days, I'm just working on contributing something to the world. Being that I'm creative, I'm trying to write sci-fi short stories that make me think, and by extension could make others think about the current state of affairs. I try to use my time away from work really engaging myself creatively to enrich myself and the life of those around me. I train myself physically, mentally and try to keep an even keel emotionally.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being silly, inappropriate and mindful. I am pretty patient and a good listener. I love listening to peoples' silly stories because it makes people more human. As if we're sharing a really awesome part of our humanity. I try to share my silly stories in return to make a genuine connection with another person. To me this can be a rather intimate process without the heavy connotations. It's light and intimate and that rules! It also gives me a chance to practice listening intently.

I would say it's my loud, boisterous laughter because I'm typically either laughing at an inappropriate joke or saying something silly...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

The books that I read are generally either Buddhist literature, both modern and ancient, or sword/sorcery fantasy/sci-fi.

Movies: The Departed, other Scorsese films, Reservoir Dogs, other Tarantino flicks. I'm a fan of horror, fantasy and science fiction. I don't think there's a science fiction movie that I watched that I didn't at least like a little bit, except Tom Cruise in War of the Worlds. That movies stinks!

Shows: Crime dramas are my absolute favorite and in that light The Wire is my most favorite show of all time. Also, I love some silly sitcoms like Community, 30Rock and It's always sunny. Of course, I'm also into scifi TV as well, modern BSG, Star Trek: Next Generation, Red Dwarf and scifi channel Dune series.

Music: I love dirty and grimy beats paired with warm textures/harmonies. Genres include but not limited to, jazz, blues, reggae, dub, funk, hiphop, rap, avant garde beat driven music, soul, orchestral soundtracks. Artists include, J Dilla, Madlib, MF Doom, Apollo Brown, Flying Lotus, Digital Mystikz etc.

Food: Thai, Japanese and other Asian cuisines, as well as Mexican & Italian but I'm always willing to try a something new.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Family & friends
The three refuges
My computer
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Sounds, especially the low-end frequencies. The nature of existence, limitations of perception as we know it, and our relationship with the rest of the expansive universe.

Lately, it's also been the pathology of sexuality and the relationship between sexuality and our psychological past.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Looking for a good place to chill and listen to some beats or out playing board games with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I cried the first time I saw Forest Gump. I know it's not the greatest movie ever, but it hit me in the right emotional place.

Also, I like some trap music because of that 808!

You want to meet my little Marilyn, the cute dog that I share my life with. Or you want to check out some beats at Lo-fi on a Tuesday night (Stop Biting). Maybe you'd like to go shopping for records? Or you just want to drink tea/coffee/eat caramels, we can talk and get to know each other. I'm really about making genuine connections with other people these days. Not looking for prolonged expectations just connections with all the beautiful people out there.

As a disclaimer, I practice ethical non-monogamy. So I have partners currently but that doesn't restrict me from meeting new people. I'm really open to making a new connection with interesting, even not-so-interesting, folks. I'm into the variety of life and meeting new people helps me experience this first hand.
