My self-summary
I jetted out of the midwest 11 years ago, quit my job in advertising and drove a U-Haul to San Francisco and decided to stay for awhile in Northern California. After being here so long, I'm starting to wonder how I tolerated the frigid cold for so many years. Being from the midwest makes me polite, so that's working in my favor.

My mom says I'm loud, but I prefer the term gregarious. I just like good banter back and forth and love a good story. I'm a very social creature to a point, once I go out and get my fill of people I end up retreating home to be introspective and read or draw.

I was on National Honors Society in high school. I haven't used that gem since my college application, so I deem it appropriate to use here. It may garner me more female attention than I anticipate, but I'm willing to take that risk.
What I’m doing with my life
I work for a small mobile startup. I was working as a designer in tech before everyone starting hating on it and setting Google buses on fire.
I’m really good at
Doodling, writing, getting out of the house and tromping around the woods, being boisterous, antagonizing my friends, blowing off responsibilities on a sunny afternoon.

This year I've been really good at getting myself to the gym, usually three days a week.

I excel at sleeping in on the weekends too, and I can eat a pint of ice cream unprompted.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm ethnically ambiguous.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Siddhartha, Slaughterhouse Five, 1Q84, Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, The Gods Themselves, Anything by Chuck Klosterman. I'm currently reading 'The Corrections' and trying to decide whether I like Franzen or think he's a pretentious dick. Maybe I like that he's a pretentious dick.

Eternal Sunshine, Solaris, Safety Not Guaranteed, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, Goodfellas, Adaptation, Princess Mononoke, any mumblecore film by the Duplass brothers.

Generationals, The Acorn, Faunts, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., Foxygen, Dodos, Geographer, Luxury Liners, Local Natives, Pinback, Tallest Trees... Oof too much music to go into, but that's what I got on repeat now.

In other media I love TED radio hour, WTF podcast with Marc Maron and This American Life. Podcasts help move the work day along.
The six things I could never do without
Coffee, music, art, sour worms, humor and the outdoors.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why I'm not drawing or painting more.
On a typical Friday night I am
Half the time I like going out, trying new restaurants, making San Francisco my own personal playground. But, the other half of me likes to hide out on Friday with a dinner in and Yahtzee. And watch the drunk kids woo as they stumble beneath my window.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I watch Ellen and the Golden Girls while I'm at the gym.
