My Self-Summary

I'm not really sure what to put here, which is ironic as normally I consider myself vocal and opinionated, but so much more difficult when it comes to yourself. So I guess I'll go with that. I think opinions are swell and great for conversation and doesn't mean that anyone is right or wrong, just an idea that can lead to discovery and growth. I don't judge others as I fully admit to not being perfect myself.

What I’m doing with my life

I have a house and fabulous friends whom I love and overall feel quite blessed. I still have lots of ideas and projects and more to day, but pretty happy with where I'm at.

I'm doing work that I consider OK. I don't love it, I don't hate it. I work mostly from home with some travel depending on the project. Mostly my job consists of asking people what data they'd like to see, and listen, then give them what they want in a pretty report format.

I’m really good at

Baking and cooking and feeding people :-)
Numbers and logic and analagies.
Smiling and laughing.
Finding ridiculously practical solutions to things that sound complicated, but aren't really.

The first things people usually notice about me

I smile with my eyes.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I love food. All food, especially desserts and breakfast. I love to make food, eat food, talk about food. But I don't like olives.

My music and movie tastes are pretty eccentric and all over the place, so listing them all out seems pretty severe. And I'm pretty open to new stuff, so even if its something I've never heard of before, I'm all for it. In particular, I like Classic movies (Audrey Hepburn) and Americana music the best.

I enjoy reading things that friends recommend or that I hear about on NPR. Right now I'm reading some old books that I loved as a kid, like Roald Dahl. Some other recent favorites were Tom Sawyer, Water for Elephans, Shadow of the Wind.

The six things I could never do without

My journal, or napkins, or something to scribble a thought onto.

Sunshine.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I spend a lot of time thinking about why basic manners and courtesy are no longer considered common decency.

On a typical Friday night I am

Having dinner with friends and playing board games or watching a movie.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am entirely too tolerant and can always understand someone else's point of view, and it makes it very hard for me to draw lines.
