My Self-Summary

I'm trying to make the best of my mid-twenties.

There are ways that I'm "old" for my age -- I think I have a fair amount of my shit together and can sometimes get wrapped up in old-people hobbies like talking politics, farmers markets, and starting sentences with, "I was listening to NPR the other day..."

But I'm also in a pretty open-minded place right now. I'm looking to meet new people and try new things...

What I’m doing with my life

Just finished law school, playing a lot of facebook tetris and facebook scrabble. Loved working at The Wexner Center but that ended when school did. Now working 2 part-time jobs while I await bar exam results.

I’m really good at

Facebook tetris.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Authors: Zadie Smith, Julia Alvarez, Audre Lorde, Dan Savage...

Movies: Me and You and Everyone We Know, Kissing Jessica Stein, Amelie, Secretary, Saving Face, Eulogy, Home for the Holidays, Talladega Nights, Milk...

Music: Girl Talk and M.I.A. were definitely the best shows I've seen in Columbus. I also like some mellower stuff like Rilo Kiley (and Jenny Lewis's solo work). I go through a lot of music phases, though. What do you recommend?

Food: I love colorful foods - both natural (plates full of bright veggies!) and unnatural (elaborate jello molds!). Beyond color, I love trying new restaurants. I don't think I have a favorite food, but I like innovative flavor combonations.

TV: Is it bad that I sighed when I saw TV wasn't on there? I love 30 Rock, Mad Men, Lost, Top Chef, and How I Met Your Mother as much as most any movie I've seen. Not to mention past loves like Six Feet Under, Buffy, and Arrested Development.

Online: I also think it's a little dated that they don't include online hobbies in this category. I read NYTimes, Slate, The Onion, AV Club, and little bits of EW and some trashier political and/or celeb blogs most days. Favorite podcasts are generally produced by NPR.
