My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a Bay Area native and love everything Northern California has to offer. Looking for a great guy who can make me laugh. I try and find humor in every day life--why not?

I'm active and love spending time outdoors--hiking, sailing, skiing. I spend many weekends in Tahoe whether I am on the slopes in winter or on the Lake in the summer. It's one of my favorite places ever.

I prefer dive bars and wine bars to nightclubs and big-scene places. Love trivia and playing pool. College football season is one of my favorite times of year. I will always support my Giants and 49ers--have been going to games since I was little!

I'm smart and have no problem speaking my mind, but I do it thoughtfully. I love to learn and try and read as much as possible. I just started a writing group with some grad school friends. I love it! Scary but fun and challenging! Oh, and I'm not afraid to nerd out once in a while. I love that I'm a little nerdy, and love that in a guy too.

I have a phenomenal, eccentric, nutty family, and II would throw myself in front of a bus for any/all of them. And according to my niece and my nephews that are old enough to talk, "Auntie Mo tells the best stories, and laughs a lot". Out of the mouths of babes...
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a 7th grade special Ed teacher. This is a new venture. I've been teaching English for 12+ years, and just made the switch! I absolutely adore my job. Teaching middle school is a complete trip, and my war stories are absolutely hilarious. I love what I do, and can't imagine another career, even on the "worst" of days.

If I could have any other job in the world, I'd probably wish to be a photojournalist. Love writing and taking pictures.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
making people laugh, throwing dinner parties, drinking wine, writing, skiing, understanding/ analyzing confusing literature, being a fun aunt, and being a good friend.

I also have a pretty good memory and can imitate peoples voices. Weird, I know. And I kick ass singing in the car on my way to work.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Not sure about this one. Looks wise, maybe my eyes or my smile (I have dimples that won't go away--believe me, I've tried!) but people notice pretty quickly that I am thoughtful.

This could be 30 pages long if I let it...
Books--Just about any kind of fiction. The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, The Sense of an Ending, anything Raymond Carver, Denis Johnson, Zadie Smith. Twain. Cool and funky contemporary and historical fiction. I'm a complete literary nerd, and I'm hands-down okay with that. I also love my New Yorker and Bon Appetit subscriptions.

Movies /TV-- The Party, Raising Arizona, Roman Holiday, To Kill AMockingbird, Anchorman, So I Married an Axe Murderer and Love Actually are a few faves. TV wise love The League, Modern Family, Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men, and It's Always Sunny. I'm also easily sucked into infomercials selling cd collections (specifically rock, metal, or powe ballad compilations from the 70s 80s or 90s), especially after cocktails. I'm okay with it.

Music-- I love seeing live shows. Music is super eclectic. Thank God for The Fillmore! U2 to Black Crows to Willie Nelson to Michael Franti. Really big Tom Waits and Elvis Costello fan. Yeah, I'm all over the map. Love the New Wave station on XM. Also see above infomercial reference.

Food--When I am away from SF, I really miss Mexican food and sushi. Love a good steak every now and then. Anything inventive and creative. We're so spoiled here!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
my future and everything I still want to do with my life! Also I love to think about traveling. I don't travel enough but always planning that next trip :) currently dreaming of drinking beer on the beach somewhere warm...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
winding down from my week. Friday night is a hard night to go out. I usually meet friends for a drink after work, but then I am absolutely okay going home and having some wine and watching a movie or reading a book. I do go out on Fridays, but prefer to go out on Saturday!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Nothing yet! I guess that I have two younger brothers?!
