My self-summary
I'm a tall, genuine, down to earth man seeking a friend for the end of the world (or just evenings and weekends!)
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a trainee solicitor so I'm pretty ambitious career wise but not at the expense of everything else in my life. I am lucky enough to live by St Paul's Square in the Jewellery Quarter which is a great place to be and has the added advantage of being 5 minutes away from the office - Result!!

I'm looking for someone intelligent and interesting, someone who isn't afraid to have an opinion and disagree with me when they think I'm wrong. I also think it's important for someone to have ambitions as to what they want to achieve with their life and things that they aspire to.
I’m really good at
I'm a very sociable person and enjoy spending time with my friends as well as meeting new people so I particularly like going to bars for a few drinks after work or having a nice meal. I'm quite outdoorsy and was brought up in Yorkshire so enjoy escaping to the countryside when I get the chance along with visiting new places. I also play football and running to keep fit.

Through my work, I've become very involved in working with War Child who are an amazing charity and as a result I've somewhat stupidly signed up to do the three peaks challenge and also completed an 8.5 mile run over the summer. I have been training 6 days a week for the last 2 months and have got myself pretty fit in order to complete these challenges.

Whilst this is almost certainly going to come across as being really horrible, I'm looking for someone who will help to keep me motivated to stay in shape and keep pushing myself harder. As a result, whilst I don't want a girl who is supermodel skinny or has a 6 pack, someone obese who never exercises is probably not going to fit the bill.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my height... and then within 5 minutes of meeting me, my sense of humour
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - I have many leather bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogony.

Authors I read the most are probably John Grisham (bit of a lawyer stereotype but they're good), Sebastian Faulks, James Patterson, Wilbur Smith and lots of others too although I don't get round to reading as often as I would like.

Movies - Pretty varied, if I just want an easy watch on an evening, I will invariably go for a comedy but I like lots of other types of film too. Some of my favourites would probably be Walk The Line, Atonement, Hot Fuzz, Anchorman, Crazy Stupid Love, Slumdog Millionaire, Like Crazy, War Horse, The Help, Midnight in Paris, Juno, Superbad etc etc.

I love my music and going to gigs/festivals. I have a pretty wide taste in music although I probably listen to indie more than anything. I really like discovering new music and going to see bands in small little venues before they get well known so if anyone has any tips, give me a heads up. I have been to Dot to Dot Festival in Bristol and Godiva Festival this summer and have Laura Marling and Swim Deep lined up over the next few months.

I also love stand up comedy and have been to see lots of live shows. My number one would probably be Tim Minchin but I also really like Rhod Gilbert, Jon Richardson, John Bishop and Russell Howard amongst others.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how to fill in empty boxes on dating websites.
On a typical Friday night I am
much more likely to be in a nice bar with mates, at a gig or at a comedy show than I am to be found on Broad Street!
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 20–30
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
you're one of those people who always says "where have all the nice men gone"

Also, as this site doesn't give you the option to have this as a setting which is annoying, I'm not interested in anyone with children. Sorry
