I am athletic, intellectual, and emotionally fluent.

My Self-Summary

Hmmm... kind of ecclectic here. I am one of the top 10 men internationally in my profession, travel extensively, am intellectually and emotionally adept, explore remote places for recreation and love surprising my peers with strongman-type feats such as truck lifting, phone book tearing and creative bending of kitchen implements. My friends' wives won't let me touch their frying pans for fear they will end up rolled up like a cigar.

I tend to be long term with friendships and generous to a fault. While I enjoy helping the helpless, I have little tolerance for the intentionally clueless.

What gets it for me? My usual adventures involve several days to a week above timberline, but that would be asking a little much ;-).

Sometimes I go above timberline and hunt wildflowers.
Spread my arms wide, breath in the forest air and BE ALIVE BY CHOICE!
Picnics by the stream.
Museum hopping.
A trip to the zoo to relax with a friend.
Galapogos or Glacier cruise.
Tepanyakki- so cool to eat an art form.
4 wheel in the ice and snow.
Track mountain lions in winter. Get to know the dominant male in the territory.
Cross country ski and catch the deer- yep- it can be done if the snow is deep enough. Then stand there and feed them hay cubes. It's a huge rush.

What I’m doing with my life

Prepping for peak oil and hyper-inflation. Hey... you can't stop 'em or even influence 'em, but you can profit from them. Profit enough and you can sidestep them. My prep not only involves investing in the economic trends brought out by these two fundamentals, but also some serious organic farming, beekeeping and animal husbandry.

This and the usual travel thing. My job takes me all over the world- Australia, China, Columbia, Canada. I have the dubious honor of being able to recognize most of the major cities in the world just by looking at a picture of the skyline.

Lately enjoying my miniscule time off by the simple act of hiking or enjoying some time in the garden- yeah- way simple is how I de-stress from the complex and professional.

I’m really good at

Taking multiple GSW and still standing.
Singing
Growing organic crops
Wilderness hiking
Catching evil doers

There is one thing that I am really good at, but it would scare the crap out of most of you, at least until you see how gentle I habitually am, so we will save that for later. And no, I am not talking about sex. Give a guy credit for having some depth.

The first things people usually notice about me

Ponytail and muscles

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

My second largest expense is books, so this is a tough one. I read SciFi, history, archeology, finance and future visions- usually 3-5 books per week. Tainter's work on collapse, Diamond's work on civilization and resources, Leeb's books on peak oil and resulting financial trends for non-fiction, Weber, Asimov, Forstchen for fiction.

Movies- action, of course. And a little Sci-Fi if it is not too campy.

Fave food is Japanese cuisine, hands down. Distant second place goes to creative grilling of exotic game and field prepared meals over open flame.

Favorite musical style is Jazz. When I sing, and I am a good baritone, I like songs by Luther Van Dross, Jackson Browne, Anita Baker and Bobby Caldwell. Singing is fun and romantic- esp since no one really does it anymore. I think it is really cool to sing to a lady and just love to do it.

The six things I could never do without

Just six?

So limited!

OK, then... Six.

1. Books
2. Exercise
3. Cooking
4. Outdoor activities like camping, fishing and hiking
5. Intimate moments- I am a sucker for tender emotions
6. Victory over evil doers

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The future. Big time. Nobody plans to fail, but nearly everyone fails to plan.

Getting back home after working overseas.

What the hell I'm doing here!

On a typical Friday night I am

Landing at the airport after a week somewhere else! I do quite a bit of travel. The drive back up to the mountains with music in the background is my weekly wind-down. Saturday or Sunday is when I recreate.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Not a damn thing! We have to talk a bit first.

Or if you are REALLY brave, you can tickle it out of me.

Betcha ain't that brave.

OK- really. I worry that I am not being good enough or strong enough to fix all the nastiness out there. In fact, I am not even close, and it bothers me.

You should message me if

You want an answer back.

I will almost certainly do so.

After a long day chasing bad guys, cramped up on an aircraft or wheedling a little gold out of a corporation, it is pleasant just to be nice to someone.
