I'm truly blessed, but life is better with a soul-mate to be a priority for caring and sharing. The non-material things are the most important aspects to life: family, friendships, love, beauty, nature, art. Wait- dessert has to be on that list, too. I’m most passionate about food. I’m a diverse gourmet cook (and a gourmand). I'm fortunate enough to enjoy the luxuries of life, as well.

I teach a Professional Development course on the Environmental Crisis in Hawaii, so spending Februaries there is necessary for "my research."

Another great love of mine is music: Classic rock- ie. Yes, Genesis, ELP, Heart, Fleetwood Mac; New age- ie. Yanni, Kitaro; Classical, World, and Opera. All optimistic and melodic, as opposed to whiny jazz or rap.

I value creativity, curiosity, and independence of thought. I love smart people. I strive for balance- yin and yang, prompting some to regard me as an enigma (or, at least, very confused). I'm goal-oriented yet spontaneous, mature yet fun-loving, romantic yet realistic, sophisticated yet determined to cherish the child within. Always ready to have fun at the drop of a hat- well- a phone call will do! I'm easy-going and try to handle life's "challenges" with a sense of humor. Life's too short to stress over the small stuff- and 99% if it IS small stuff.

I enjoy cuddling, fine dining, concerts, sunsets, sledding, organic gardening, "keeping the home fires burning", hiking, swimming, ice skating, fireworks, home improvements (hide your tools!), and volunteering. The “finer things in life”- theater, boating, travel, Belgian chocolate, etc. are necessary, too.

I’m searching for an educated, principled, thoughtful, caring, romantic, financially responsible, health conscious, communicative, affectionate man with character, courage, and conscience.

I find keeping busy preferable to reducing myself to a blob in front of the idiot-box. I enjoy volunteering for several social service and environmental organizations and hold leadership positions in a few. I'm active politically, supporting individual candidates rather than 1 party. Also, I freelance write.

I like to spend Februaries in Maui. Snorkeling, whale watching, etc.

Communication- REAL communication. Not these ridiculous questions which lack the correct answers. i.e. "If you had a one-night stand DURING a relationship, would you confess to your mate? Yes or No." How about the correct answer? "I WOULDN'T have a one-night stand DURING a relationship."
