My self-summary
Musical, inquisitive, and motivated. And yes, really that tall.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm back in grad school in Baltimore for the next couple years after a few years living the starving artist dream in NYC. I vacillate between loving the opportunity to work on my craft and missing the real world like crazy.
I’m really good at
Listening, sight-reading, remembering innumerable useless facts, procrastinating, being desperately overcommitted, losing respectability as a pianist.
The first things people usually notice about me
"How tall are you? Do you play basketball?"
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Middlesex, A Midsummer Night's Dream (Hamlet Shmamlet, he's whiny - and I'll take Harold Bloom to the mat on that one), Lolita and anything by Robert Frost (I feel like I grew up in one of his poems). Also, Calvin and Hobbes.

I listen to a lot of classical music and a little bit of everything else, too, with a strong preference for artists who demonstrate a degree of actual musical skill within their genres. I also love discovering new music, so feel free to make suggestions! Current obsessions include Rameau, Lisa Fischer and Gabriel Kahane.

Not really a big movie buff, so my opinions on them aren't so extreme. That said, I love a good documentary and I'm working my way through Breaking Bad (TV is definitely the more exciting long-format medium these days).

Oooh, food... I like food. I'll try anything. Sometimes only once. Maybe a second time if you put marinara sauce or chocolate ganache on it.
The six things I could never do without
Books, wingtips, complex punctuation, Bärenreiter scores, great conversations over bottles of wine, sour gummies.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Human nature, art's place in society, what I want for dinner, free will, YouTube videos, extended vocal techniques, behavioral economics, how to get that cute guy at the coffee shop's number, how I should really learn German.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably performing. Or sleeping. Or cavorting with the gang.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
A bear sat on me once while I was camping upstate. No, not that kind of bear.

You should message me if
You're intrigued by something in my profile. Or you think I'll be intrigued by something about you. Or you're tall and cute. Or some combination of the above. Whatever, it's the internet - the stakes aren't that high, just say hello.
