My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Musical, inquisitive, and motivated. And yes, really that tall.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Grad school in Baltimore for the next year after living the starving artist dream in NYC; I'm also down in DC every weekend for work. I vacillate between loving the opportunity to work on my craft and missing the real world like crazy.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening, sight-reading, remembering innumerable useless facts, procrastinating, being desperately overcommitted, losing respectability as a pianist.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
"How tall are you? Do you play basketball?"
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Middlesex, A Midsummer Night's Dream (Hamlet Shmamlet, he's whiny - and I'll take Harold Bloom to the mat on that one), His Dark Materials, Lolita, and anything by Robert Frost (I feel like I grew up in one of his poems). Also, Calvin and Hobbes.

I listen to a lot of classical music and a little bit of everything else, too, with a strong preference for artists who demonstrate a high degree of musical skill within their genres. I also love discovering new music, so feel free to make suggestions! Current obsessions include Rameau, Lisa Fischer and Gabriel Kahane.

Not really a big movie buff, so my opinions on them aren't so extreme. That said, I love a good documentary and I'm working my way through Breaking Bad (TV is definitely the more exciting long-format medium these days).

I like food. I'll try anything. Sometimes only once. Maybe a second time if you put chocolate ganache on it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Books, wingtips, complex punctuation, Bärenreiter scores, great conversations over bottles of wine, sour gummies.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Human nature, art's place in society, what I want for dinner, free will, YouTube videos, extended vocal techniques, behavioral economics, how to get that cute guy at the coffee shop's number, epidemiology's intersection with American scientific illiteracy, how I should really learn German.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably performing. Or sleeping. Or cavorting with the gang.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
A bear sat on me once while I was camping upstate. No, not that kind of bear.

You're intrigued. Or you think I'll be intrigued. Or you're tall and cute. Whatever, it's the internet - the stakes aren't that high, just say hello.
