I am a Jedi like my father before me. No, that's not true, my father was never a Jedi.
I'm re-answering some of the questions i had already answered when i was on the east coast.
I've come to realize that I'm an oddity here in the Northwest. I don't think I'm poly anything. I have also come to that conclusion and am OK with it. Hopefully I'm not the only one. I'm willing to give it a shot. I like the idea of it, but I don't know how I'd actually react.
This whole profile needs to be redone, so here is the start.
I, like everyone else who writes in this section, have no idea what to put. So here's some info that i think might be of some use. I just moved to Washington state after 30 years in Georgia. I'm glad I got out. I was miserable half the year. So here I am in Edmonds and loving it.
Even though I live here in the PNW, I might be the only one who is NOT real outdoorsy. Weird, I know.
I don't know a lot of people here in Washington, and I'd like to change that. So if you'd like to geek out, all the better.
On the off chance you have liked me on the quick match thing, I can't see who you are. So please either send a note, or maybe visit my profile not long after?
Living the dream... Now if only i could figure out who's dream this is.
Making things in PhotoShop [Learning Illustrator]
Being a geek and enjoying it.
I would consider myself a bit of a nerd/geek/dork [they're all interchangeable to me]. I play Magic: The Gathering, but casually.
I'm not sure what section to put this in, but this is as good as any. I recently discovered KEXP and love it. It's so nice to not hear the same 12 to 16 songs all day. I really like positive vibrations.
I've been volunteering with the Edmonds theater as of late and really enjoying it. I forgot how much I enjoyed live theater until I started helping out again.
As for what I want to do when I "grow up", I have no idea. I really enjoyed building this set for 'Sin, Sex, and the C.I.A.' But I also like making things in PhotoShop. Not to mention the crocheting. I'm kinda all over the place huh?
I also like comic books. There are some great stories being told.
I'd like to get into puppetry, but I'm just not sure how. I LOVE Jim Henson. On a related note, Keith Haring made some awesome stuff too, you should check it out.
I'm pretty good at making sockmonkeys that look like superheroes. So far I have Gambit and I'm working on Captain AmeriMonky. I haven't done it in a while, but I could still probably put together a pretty killer mix cd.
I'm really quite talented at leaving my cell phone in my car. Especially if it needs to charge...
Procrastinating on folding laundry.
Yelling at the TV during sporting event.
(A)HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy [and the ones that follow], Sandman, Good Omens, The Alienist,The Strain, The Fall, The Night Eternal [Vampires are scary again!], Curse of The Full Moon. American Gods was awesome. I'm a big fairy tales guy. I'd rather read the original version. On a related note, I've just started the 'Wizard of Oz'.
(B)almost anything from Tim Burton or Kevin Smith...Groove, The Crow, Muppets from Space (almost any muppets really. I mean, my nickname is Muppett.), Interstate 60, Ace The Zombie [it's really good, plus as a bonus, I was in it], The Warriors, Kite (awesome Japanese Anime movie-it'll only take about an hour of you life), Clue, A cat In Paris, Serenity, Sin City, Rocky Horror Picture Show (it's better live), Blues Brothers, Airplane, Pan's Labrinth, Across the Universe, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Murderball, The Dark Side of Oz, Ziggy Starfighter [www.SyncMovies.com]...I enjoy horror movies: The Beast of Bray Road, Trick 'r' Treat. I'll add some more when I think of them.
When it comes to TV shows, I don't watch to many anymore. I'm really looking forward to 'The Strain'. Shows I used to watch include: Doctor Who, Torchwood, Leverage, Grimm, Lost Girl, X-Files. Notice The Big Bang Theory isn't on the list? There's a reason. It's not funny to me.
Some of the bands I like:
The Bastard Suns, Blue Oyster Cult, Groove Stain, Of Monsters and Men, Flogging Molly, They Might Be Giants, Dropkick Murphy's, Jimi Hendrix, The Epoxies, Social D., Op. Ivy, Rancid. Rusted Root, Dervish, some '80's alternative. Bunch of '90's stuff, Crash Test Dummies, Garbage, STP, Linkin Park, Carbon Leaf, I've seen Soul Radics in concert once and liked what I heard, Murpheys Kids, Aquabats, Ark Attack, I've been listening to Paul Simon's 'Graceland' a bunch recently. I want to get into more ska, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Catherine Wheel, Billy Idol, Type O Negative, The War On Drugs, 2 Cellos, Lindsey Stirling, Pentatonix, Beebs And Her Money Makers, and The Asteroids Galaxy Tour as of late, more to be added soon...
Tv: Twin Peaks was so weird, I love season 1. Who's line is it whenever I can catch it. Robotech, Psych, Warehouse 13, Eureka, The Guild [does that count as tv?], Firefly, Buffy, Hemlock Grove, Grimm, Lost Girl [really getting into this one], I want to check out 'Sleepy Hollow' and 'Once'. Doctor Who is a fun way to spend free time. Torchwood was pretty good, though I never saw 'Miracle Day'. I like Hamster on Top Gear [UK]. I've enjoyed what little I've seen of 'Being Human [UK].
Let's add one more: Video Games. I'm an RPG kinda guy. At the moment, Guild Wars 2 is what I'm playing the most. I also love the Diablo games. I'm also playing Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines again. Yes, it came out 10 years ago. It has a loving fanbase who has kept it alive. I've just started 'The Wolf Among Us', it's set in the world of 'Fables'.I haven't played a tabletop RPG since college, but I still like 'em. At the moment, I'm in the middle of a GURPS campaign. When I had my Xbox [the stupidly heavy one], I had games like Voodoo Vince, Jet Set Radio Future, and Crimson Skies.
All that being listed, I'm not sure if that really tells you who I am as a person.
A way to listen to a baseball game
Yarn and crochet hooks
A book and a charged up Kindle.
I have realized that I like being able to get online... Like probably too much.
Not sure what else needs to go in this section, but I'll put more than six if needed. Take that OKC!
What the hell is NSPP or whatever this new fangled acronym that's being thrown around is: Negated Stocky Photographic Platypus? Apparently it's ALSO not Nostalgicly Separated Prehistoric Panda.
If I'll ever actually ever make my Alex In Wonderland costume. [Part of it is my lack of sewing ability]
Why so many Canadians have suddenly showed up in my quick match [not that I mind one bit, just found it odd]?
How I can best do my part to help the environment.
How the word 'epic' is used so much, it no longer has the same meaning.
What to make next in PhotoShop.
Is my stuff really that good?
What SuperHero Sockmonkey should I make next? [Working on Nightcrawler]
What else should I crochet?
