Recent movies - The Guard - Brendan Gleeson is brilliantly funny in
this film! Also Four Lions, one of the funniest "non-PC" movies I
have ever seen.
Other classics - there are some good Mel Brooks movies that are
silly but fun. The original Naked Gun was good, but then they made
2 more pointless sequels with the same jokes.
I like movies like No Country for Old Men & Burn After
Reading.
A good thriller or horror movie is always good fun to watch with
someone else, particularly fun if they are easily scared (coz I'm
not).
Books - last few years has been mostly non-fiction. Of note The
Dark Tourist, Freakonomics, The New New Thing, Being Digital. I did
pick up Roddy Doyle's The Deportees a while back - he wrote The
Commitments, The Snapper and The Van.
Food - I like most ethnicities cuisines or at least I am willing to
try them if I haven't before. Whenever I travel I always try to
look for local cuisines, local drinks, etc. Having said that, I
don't know if I could handle crickets, worms or other insects that
are popular in some cultures!
Music - vast and varied collection. Everything from U2 to Nine Inch
Nails. Some artists from my collection - Snow Patrol, Keane, Kaiser
Chiefs, Radiohead, Muse, The Ting Tings, Eric Clapton, Foo
Fighters, The Cranberries, REM, The B52s, Paul Simon, The Streets,
Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, My Chemical Romance,
Manic Street Preachers, The Bloodhound Gang, Paul Oakenfold, Pink
Floyd, Richard Cheese, Talking Heads, Bob Seger, Lynyrd Skynrd to
name a small few.
