What I’m doing with my life
There are things you'd never guess just by looking at her. Well, you'd surely guess that she's a wonderful mother by the way she walks with and talks with her little boy. You may also guess that she's a devoted wife by the mediocre way she conceals black eyes. There's the possibility that you might guess that she's a dedicated employee by the way her married employers let her dismiss the bruises and aches when she tells them how clumsy she is. You could also guess how she feels the weight she bears when, for a little while, she lets herself unfurl, lets her long, thin limbs extend in that majestic, alien way a praying mantis's do--you know, if you really could guess. I don't know whether you could guess at the hypnotic, hypnotized quality she takes on when she's being loved gently. I wonder if you could tell that a rapture overtakes her when she knows she's safe. Would you guess that the smile on her face will turn to tears when you close her car door, and she knows she's going back home? Would you guess at the pained expression that she wears when she silently wishes that little boy was yours, and not his? Could one suppose that she smiles at those little, blue eyes, never consciously thinking that she will be there until she dies, whenever that might be?
I’m really good at
Paying attention to people - even minute details. Um, math, abstraction, spelling. I'm good at saying kind things to people - and being sincere about it. Oh, and I can read like nobody's business!
The first things people usually notice about me
Um, you would have to ask people to answer that question. I once had most of my face tattooed with henna. People noticed that! Which is not to say that they approved. Is there anybody out there with some artistic ability that would like to draw on my face with henna? I have all the stuff, and I am a little bored.
The six things I could never do without
In no particular order of importance:
Music, books, affection, peace, quiet, and humor.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whatever happens to occur to me at the time. Or anything into which somebody else drags my tiny brain.
On a typical Friday night I am
Reading, writing, walking around with my dog, listening to music.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I suffer from some features of Tourette's syndrome, but only when I yawn.
