My self-summary
I just moved to the Fort Lauderdale area so I would like to get out and see all that's here! I spent the last 2 years in Indy for grad school and before that I was in NM, but I will always be a Wisconsite at heart.

I'm a bit of an odd duck and have no aspirations to be otherwise. I sing randomly in conversations and laugh loudly. I like swings and stargazing. I like biking, camping, hiking, cooking, contra-dancing, boating, crafting, reading, travelling, and the usual things that people like. If I could have two superpowers I would fly and be able to stop time. I write good old fashioned letters. I'm middle of the road on the introvert-extrovert situation and prefer the company of a relative few to big crowds. I'm a liberal and a feminist. I was raised Lutheran, but now am an agnostic who goes to a zen center. I think life is worth thinking about. I'm somewhat irreverent and can curse more than you might expect.

I'm looking for someone to hang out with and maybe something more from there. I'm looking for someone who can carry a 2-sided conversation and who can plan things to do because it gets old when things are one sided. I value authenticity, intelligence, compassion, humor, kindness, and the search for meaning in a meaningless world.
What I’m doing with my life
Well, I've found that life isn't as plan-able as I'd planned for, but museum types things are what I do now.
I’m really good at
Making a mess, cooking, crafting, driving for long periods of time
The first things people usually notice about me
I am fond of non-sequitors- I'll jump from one topic to another and you will have no clue how the two are linked-rest assured they are...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: This is hard especially since I get a lot of books from the library and I can't remember what they were called.... The Illustrated Man, Handmaid's Tale

Movies: Henry H Christ, Little Miss Sunshine, Amelie, Into the Wild, Indiana Jones I and III, The Neverending Story, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Fried Green Tomatoes, Then She Found Me, Love and Other Drugs

Shows: The 100, Game of Thrones, Call of the Midwives, Black Orphan, BBC miniseries which are never long enough, Northern Exposure, Firefly, Dead Like Me, Dollhouse, Dr. Who, Battlestar Gallactica

Music: a bunch of stuff, folksy stuff, rock stuff, some classical, more

Food: Dark chocolate, ice cream, thai food, pineapple on pizza, biscuits and gravy, cheese curds, fresh strawberries warm from the sun, caprese salads
The six things I could never do without
Garlic - it goes in everything (almost) and it's good for your heart!

My computer (also my entertainment system)

My bike

Friends and Family

Traveling- I go stir-crazy

My pillow- it's got the foam and the contours
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The restaurant I would run if I ever owned a restaurant, what I should be doing but am not doing, what I should do with my life and my next travel destination.
On a typical Friday night I am
hanging out with friends or chillaxing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
is nothing in particular.
You should message me if
You take initiative...:)
You can carry on a two-sided conversation
You think we might get along
You are not an axe murderer (or any kind of murderer really)
You are not a neat freak- I will drive you crazy and I will not appreciate your criticisms in this regard
