I am compassionate, cute, and fun.
My Self-Summary
I'm a fun fem, who loves to get into deep conversations. For me,
that's the biggest turn-on, if I can talk to you, about something
that matters (not just the weather) for hours on end without even
realizing that the time passed.
I love
music,
theatre, and going
to
museums. I also
love
dancing,
either at a club, modern dance, or swing dancing. I love to watch
movies and read
books. Though, of
course, I usually hate any movie based off a book. I also love
sports, especially
volleyball,
basketball,
swimming and
softball.
I am family-oriented, and consider my close friends to be part of
my family.
What I’m doing with my life
I am an elementary music teacher. I started the music program in my
school last year, and am expanding the program as I go.
I moved to NYC a year ago, after graduating college, and absolutely
love the city. I plan to stay here for a long time.
I’m really good at
I am a great
musician. Flute is my main instrument,
but I am also pretty good at piano and voice. I learned most of the
'popular' instruments in college, and can play them at a middle
school level or so.
I'm also a good
dancer. I took dance lessons for over 15
years. My favorite type of dance is modern, though I also took
lessons in ballet, tap, jazz and musical theatre. I also love swing
dancing, and enjoy changing back and forth between being a lead and
a follow. I also enjoy going out to a club to dance.
I am pretty good at
softball and
basketball. I'm a decent
volleyball player and
swimmer too. I
missed playing sports in college, and now I am slowly getting back
to playing them.
I'm also a great listener. Though watch out, because I can talk
your ear off too!
The first things people usually notice about me
Physically, I think people notice my eyes first, but maybe that's
just because I notice eyes first.
Emotionally, people notice how caring I am. I am someone who people
realize very quickly can be trusted, and counted on. As I said, I'm
very compassionate.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
My favorite books cover a wide range, from plays to teen novels to
classic "AP English-type" books. So, I'll list a bunch of them:
Stop Kiss, A Mango Shaped Space, The Shack, The Truth About
Forever, Lovely Bones, 1984, Black Like Me, Othello, Hamlet, Harry
Potter, If I Should Die Before I Wake, and Confessions of an Ugly
Stepsister. Well, I did warn you I would list a bunch. I usually
prefer to read fiction, but I'm not opposed to non-fiction.
My favorite movies are the sappy
teacher movies (I know I'm a
dork), such as Freedom Writers, Dead Poets Society, and Music of
the Heart. I also love
romantic comedies, or any
romance movie, really like Must Love Dogs, Love Actually, and Pride
and Prejudice, both versions. Some other favorites are Doubt, Clue,
Angels in America and Milk.
So, I decided I should add in TV, as well. I don't watch a lot of
TV, most of the shows I like are not on the air anymore, but here's
a few favorites: Friends, The L-Word, Legend of the Seeker, Will
and Grace, and I've started to watch Family Guy.
I really do love almost any type of music. But, my favorite is
modern
Broadway,
such as Rent, In the Heights, and Avenue Q. Though, I love the
classic from Broadway, too!
I also do love
pop
music, such as Kelly Clarkson, Lily Allen, and yes, even Britney
Spears. I'm also a huge
oldies fan, including The Four Seasons,
and The Beach Boys.
I love
jazz,
especially Count Bubba, and The Glenn Miller Orchestra, along with
the traditional big name jazz artists, such as Charlie Parker. I
also love
a
Capella groups, two of my favorites are Reveille and Straight
No Chaser.
My favorite food is anything
Italian, hands down. I could practically
live off of pasta, alone.
The six things I could never do without

Friends

My computer
My phone

I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I don't spend a lot of time thinking about would be the better
question.
I think about the latest book/movie/or TV show I just read or
watched and how it relates to my life, or try to see the links and
foreshadowing that might have occurred.
I think about my friends and family.
I think about what I can do to be a better teacher, and help my
students.
I think about why things happen in life, and what I'm doing.
I think about so much more, but for now, I think that's enough.
On a typical Friday night I am
I do not have a typical Friday night. Sometimes you'll find me at a
bar singing
karaoke, or dancing it up. Other nights,
you'll find me at home by myself or with my roommate watching a
movie or just relaxing. Other nights, you might find me hosting a
party with my friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I am a sucker for happy endings. Maybe it's the hopeless romantic
in me, I don't know, but it doesn't matter how cheesy or clichéd it
is, if it's a happy ending, I like it.
You should message me if
You live in/work in NYC, and are up for meeting up sometime, and
seeing where it goes. I'm really looking for a relationship, but if
the chemistry's not there or you're just looking for friends,
that's cool too.
