My Self-Summary

My name is Joe, I'm 23 years old. I graduated from college in 2007 and now I'm taking some time to try and figure out what I want out of life.

What I’m doing with my life

I've been teaching voice lessons for a few months now. I'm pretty excited to be working in music. This summer I'm also teaching at a summer drama workshop, where I get to teach teenagers how to sing better. I have my bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from UMass Lowell. I love singing and am finally starting to sing more. I also work at Starbucks, it's a good part-time thing and the benefits are good.

I’m really good at

Singing, cuddling, hugs, listening, being random, massages, cooking/baking (most of the time).

The first things people usually notice about me

I don't know, I suppose it depends on how we meet. It might be my loud singing of something ridiculous. Perhaps how shy I can be with new people.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

A) I don't really read a lot, but How I Paid for College - Marc Acito and any David Sedaris books are some recent favorites.

B) To name a few, Office Space, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, But I'm a Cheerleader, Lord of the Rings, Blue Citrus Hearts, Another Gay Movie, 3 Ninjas, Under the Tuscan Sun, Wonderboys, and Dodgeball.

C) Sara Barielles, Jason Mraz, Paramore, Ben Folds, Musicals, The Decemberists, Nickel Creek, Chris Thile, Coheed and Cambria, Lady Gaga, No Doubt, Elton John, Sarah McLachlan, Jump, Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, Carole King.... the list goes on. Composers:(an incredibly random list, I know) Debussy, Schubert, Dufay, Byrd, Ravel, and Faure. Clasical Singers: Philippe Jaroussky, and Cecilia Bartoli.

D)Pasta, especially cheese-filled pasta. Though chocolate, sushi, almonds, and chick peas all come in very close behind.

The six things I could never do without

This is a weird question for me, as I'm a pack rat and I keep a lot of things... but when asked what I couldn't do without... Food, Water, Music, Affection, Car, and probably my computer.(though I think in some sort of deserted island scenario I could make do without the car or computer)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Trying to decide what paths I should take in life, both personally and professionally.

On a typical Friday night I am

Probably teaching or performing, then going out to dinner or watching a movie with some friends.
