My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm originally from the South, and still have a penchant for sweet tea to prove it. I've lived in the Bay Area for over 8 years now.

I like knowing how things work. I'm terrible at reciting what somebody said when trying to tell a story. John Oliver is my kind of humor. I like knowing a little about a lot. I love trains and infrastructure in general.

I'm more or less a classic INTJ/P if you're a Myers-Briggs fan.

According to the OKCupid personality tab I'm extremely rational and hate exercise. I can't argue with that assessment.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I do the coding thing for sustenance. It's not as much the focus of my life as it once was. I still like to read up on new tech things on Hacker News though.

In my personal life I've started cooking more and dare say even enjoying it some of the time. It's like I'm a real adult or something. I still don't make my bed in the mornings and doubt I ever well. I do like getting into a well-made bed though. But not so well made you can't get the sheets to loosen up and give you some moving room. I never realized I had so many thoughts on bed-making until now.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- Making casseroles
- Laughing at the absurdity in myself and others
- Seeing the subtext
- Technology

I'm a believer in full disclosure so here are some things I am not good at:

- Cooking
- Anything involving multi-tasking
- Cleaning (I thought it would look bad if this was right after cooking so I moved it a few spots down, I hope you didn't notice)
- Recovering from awkward moments

I'm better at finishing things than starting them.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've noticed babies seem to stare me down. It's in more of a confused than terrified way. I don't know why, you'll have to ask them.

Also, I'm super white. As in melanin-challenged.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Reading
I mainly read a lot of tech days as well as whatever is on reddit or Hacker News.

Favorite Movies
Contact, Independence Day, Fifth Element

Music
Mostly alternative along with a smattering of pop, hip-hop, and country. Throw an orchestra in there and it's immediately 10x better. Bastille has been my jam lately.

There's also some k-pop and reggaeton I like even though I don't understand the languages.

TV
Lost, Modern Family, Community, Battlestar Galactica, The West Wing, Six Feet Under, The Wire, Arrested Development, Breaking Bad.

I really love serial dramas. I'm a LTR kind of guy when it comes to forms of entertainment.

Food
I love all kinds of food. Mexican, Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and of course Southern. Pretty much everything. I can't do super spicy though.

I'm also fairly obsessed with breakfast for lunch or dinner. It almost rivals my obsession with avocados.

My guilty pleasure would be french toast.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- Hot shower
- Quiet time
- Fried okra
- Access to a trove of knowledge (Internet)
- Avocados
- Free thought
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Do people really like to "go on hikes" as much as they claim?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Making dinner at home, chilling with the dogs.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I like the idea of a vegetable garden in my yard but it seems like a lot of work.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You think you have an above average chance of surviving in a post-apocalyptic world.

Or just use the like button because it's awesomely efficient and will let us know if there's mutual interest. That being said, if something resonated feel free to send a message.

For dating I generally connect with people that are:

- Extroverted
- Intuition-driven
- Curious
- Outspoken
- Not a pushover
- Financially self-sufficient

But I'm willing to be proven wrong.
