My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I have a hunch that the extreme length of my old profile was scaring some people off. Or maybe it's just me, I'm still entertaining that theory.

With that in mind, there's not much to say; I like long conversations about nothing/everything, road trips, hiking, trying new places, and generally having a good time.

If I had to describe myself, I'd say I'm casual and polite when you first meet me, and energetic and somewhat loud if I end up liking you. :P

I'm motivated, I'm proud, I'm compassionate, and I love to laugh.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently, toiling away at Kroger. Don't weep for me, I make decent money, and I'm working towards advancement every day. Some days, I think I'm actually getting there!

I've also been working on losing some more weight. I've lost 45 pounds since early 2013, but I'm still working on the last 30.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being a storyteller! I have tons of useless stories that are usually funny enough to elicit a chuckle, if not a chortle, or a guffaw.

I also love to educate myself on a lot of odd subjects, although I'm terrible at coming up with this stuff on the spot. It usually just ends up getting blurted out during a completely unrelated conversation. Exciting, right?
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This is a hard question for me, since I can't read minds, but I would assume it's my sense of observational humor. I'm always making fun of something for some reason, it's kinda my thing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Frankly, I do not read a lot of books. Do not take this as a sign that I am an uncultured ape, there are plenty of other reasons to believe that. Some of the best I've read over the years, however.... Liminal States, Hell House, The Time Machine, John Dies at the End and a few others I'll add when/if I remember.

Movies: I prefer cheesy movies to serious movies, because then I can talk over them MST3K style. I like Troll 2, Birdemic, The Room, any of the aforementioned MST3K movies, etc.

For slightly less horrible movies, I enjoy a lot of 80s sci-fi/action movies, Blade Runner, Alien, Terminator, and so on. I also love WALL-E, my favorite Pixar film of all time. No contest.

TV: I have become much more of a TV watcher, for better or worse. I enjoy It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Bob's Burgers, Futurama, Mystery Science Theater 3000, American Dad, Tosh.0, Top Gear, Breaking Bad, The Wire, and my guilty pleasure: Hoarders. Yeah, I know. Makes me wanna clean.

Music: This is the worst, I am fickle, and I change musical tastes a LOT. But here's what I'm into right now, and for the record I tend towards indie rock/alt stuff. Spoon, Mountain Goats, Portugal. The Man., Slow Club, The Rotaries, Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, The Last Royals, Real Estate, Tycho, Hungry Kids of Hungary, The Elwins, Foster the People, Fitz and the Tantrums, Metric, Phantom Planet, The Helio Sequence and about a million others. I'm always open to new stuff, too. Not huge on country, for what it's worth. But I do love Neko Case, and she's folksy, so there's that.

Food: As somebody who is clearly a lover of food, my tastes are pretty varied. I love sushi, pizza, indian food, mexican food, basically anything. Except meat, but only because I'm a vegetarian. And no, I'm not pushy about it. I don't care what you eat, as long as you don't care what I eat. Deal?
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Oxygen, sunlight, water, food, internet and a mode of transportation. Ideally.

If I'm allowed to assume that the first four are gratis, I would say:
My cat
My phone
Good friends
A good hard cider
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about my future, and where I want to be in 5 years. Yes, I basically rehearse my answer to that stereotypical interview question.

So where do I want to be? Ideally, thriving in a new career, in love, and enjoying the simple things in life. You expected a funny answer? Believe me, I tried!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working. Retail is funny like that.

If you were to rephrase the question to "In my free time I am..." it would read more like this:

Visiting new places. Watching cheesy movies. Cleaning up after my cat. Cooking. Drinking. Watching King of the Hill with my best friends.

I'm always up for adventure though, throw an idea at me and I'll probably go for it!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've got a few! I am very contrarian, I find myself suspicious of things that are inexplicably popular. This is why I probably use a windows phone and a Microsoft Surface.

I also find a lot of unconventional animals to be cute. Walruses, hippos, cows, chickens.. All adorable. In addition to the usual cats, dogs, otters, pandas, etc.

Lastly, I occasionally put way too much effort into my messages. It's hard for me to find a middle ground between "sup gurl" and "Here is my entire life story, unabridged". I apologize if you get the latter, but you'll sure as hell never get the former!

You should message me if you're looking to talk to somebody who has a million things to say, as long as you have at least half a million things to say. If you're looking for somebody who loves a good conversation over just about anything else, I'm your guy.

If you're looking for someone who has a great sense of humor(but is apparently conceited enough to mention it) and likes to laugh about a lot of inappropriate things, I'm also your guy.

Or if you're looking for somebody to do outdoor activities with. I love hiking, walking, road tripping, etc. Seriously, I'm sure we'll find something we can agree on.
