My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm going to do a little social experiment here and simply be brutally honest and lay all my cards on the table. I can't stand so much of the BS that goes into dating; interactions would be so much simpler if people actually stated their intentions up front. Therefore, in order to lead by example and practice what I preach, I will do the same.

I'm an entrepreneur, computer & electronics nerd, hobbyist, and perpetual student. I love to learn, argue, create, pursue big ideas, and try to make things as efficient as possible everywhere I turn. I'm a problem solver, a natural leader, and it is rare when my advice is not sound.

It should be obvious that I am a thinker, and that being said, I admit I fall short when it comes to understanding the "feeler" types. I have been described as "emotionally constipated" which has a certain grain of truth. Emotions are the enemy of logic and are the root cause of many of the world's problems, but some are as addictive as the hardest of drugs. I hate to say it, and it may shock anyone who knows me to say this, but the world would be truly boring and without purpose without them. The key is to keep them balanced -- enjoy the good while stopping the bad from ruining your life.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I'm working all the damn time. I have a full time job as a software developer for a shooting sports retailer and own and manage an IT services company, an electronics R&D company, and an office administrative services company. I also assist my business partner on a regular basis with his office & event rental business. On top of that I'm taking a couple of classes at a local community college.

When I'm NOT working (which as you may guess is rare) I am usually at home cooking some food from scratch, watching music videos on YouTube, and eventually finishing movies on Netflix. Despite how exciting this is, sharing a great dinner with an awesome girl, catching a movie together, checking out the various museums and events in Dallas, or just sampling local craft beers would be a welcome upgrade from the status quo.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Manipulating electrons. Sharing ideas. Driving (necessary for survival around here).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a short guy, and some might find that creepy. Hey, I understand, seeing me from a distance is kinda creepy to me too! My parents, as awesome as they are, gave me this gift and unfortunately there isn't much that can be done about that. Personally I don't care about height differences (I've dated girls taller than me) but I understand some do; to each their own.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm a huge Star Trek fan. I have all the series on DVD, most of the movies on Blu-Ray, and a shelf full of signed books (mostly technical manuals because while others are content with props I want to actually MAKE this stuff!). I also like Stargate, Babylon 5, Transformers (the original 80s version), Time Trax, Star Wars, The Matrix, and pretty much anything along the same lines.

I have waaaay too many books in my bookcases to list so just ask me :)

Same goes for music -- I have about 700 music videos on my youtube playlist which is randomized by a neat little site I found and streamed via chromecast to my TV & surround sound system. It reminds me of this cable channel back in the 90's that used to do this all the time, I think it was called MTV? Whatever happened to that? LOL

As far as food goes, I enjoy FLAVOR and SPICE. My staples are Mexican and Italian but I also enjoy cajun, thai, Indian, Chinese, etc etc....
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. FRIENDS. The purpose and meaning of life is sharing with others, even if you don't see them often or they are many miles away.

2. Nature. Walking outside from being in is like emerging from a coffin and experiencing life for the first time. I don't see how people can not appreciate the beauty that is always around us.

3. Imagination. Our entire reality is that which is in our minds, and imagination allows us to alter that reality. It's the one place we can always go to do whatever we want.

4. The magnificent series of tubes known as TEH INTARWEBS. This is really the defining invention of our lifetimes.

5. Great music. I mean really good stuff that I can get lost in and somehow changes reality, if only temporarily.

6. A car (or truck). Even if I lived in a place where I could walk to every place I would want to go, I'd still go out driving on a regular basis. It's a truly relaxing experience for me and gives me time to think about all kinds of things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
(See what I did there? :)

Everything. I'm always thinking. I can't NOT think. I could be hashing out an e-mail for work or designing a new car engine. Coming up with counterpoints in debates with friends or deciding on what to do for dinner. Composing a new chapter of a book I'm working on or reliving a fond memory. Anything really.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out, debating with friends, cooking a great meal, playing games, trying a new craft beer, working on a DIY project, reading, etc. Just depends on the week :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't actually have a college degree (yet). It's a terribly long story but since everyone just assumes that I do and I'm my own boss, it really hasn't been an issue. However I am working on it! :)

I think this section should be renamed to "What I'm looking for" since everyone seems to use it as that.

Now back to being brutally honest. I'm looking for someone I can go out and have fun with. Someone I find cute, kind, and in love with life. I deal with a lot of stressers each day with the many facets of my work life so really I am looking to unwind and escape for a bit. I'm not really looking for one night stands as sex is easily accessible to me (and I don't cherish the thought of exposing myself to STDs and whatnot for one night of debauchery), but if we really hit it off and continue to see each other it's certainly a possibility. Obviously with working all the time I have the financial aspects covered so no need to worry about that. I do have an ideological issue with restaurants that require dress codes (my thought is I'm signing the damn check, I'll dress how I want) but if I happen to be steadily dating someone for a while and she really wants to go to one of those I might be willing to make an exception.

So, if you're looking to kick back and unwind over a nice steak dinner or catch some movies at SMG or chill on the sofa watching Netflix, let me know as chances are we're looking for the same things.
