I am into science fiction (geek), especially LOTR and fantasy, quilting and puttering around the house. And of course spending time with a special someone. I am old enough to know better, too young to care, and quite frankly I find the whole she-bang amusing as hell!

What I am looking for......in a friend, someone who can accept me as I am (quirks, warts and all). Someone who is honest and dependable with a good sense of humor. Someone who can carry on an intelligent conversation. I'm attracted to a person's intelligence more than how he looks, and although I have never described myself this way before, the term sapio sexual may apply.

And since I just recently entered a relationship with someone, it would be important to note that the ONLY thing I am looking for on this website at the present time is new friends.

Working, taking care of my house, looking for new friends. And some day, when I find the time, I would like to write and publish a novel. I've worked in the human services field for most of my life (I have done a few other odd things here and there). I'm happy where I am in life pretty much.

I give awesome back rubs. And foot rubs. (And just for the record, reciprocity is appreciated...and rewarded!) I'm reasonably good at crossword puzzles. And I know a lot of movie trivia.

I can be intense, passionate and enthusiastic. I have an off-beat sense of humor and I love to laugh. I'm smart, but in a fun-loving nerdy way.

Books: science fiction/fantasy, historical fiction, mysteries, thrillers

Movies: LOTR, Casablanca, GWTW, anything with Sean Bean, and even though it's silly, and not my typical style, I will stay up and watch Harold and Kumar Go to Whitecastle everytime it's on

Music: Depends on where I am, what kind of mood I'm in and what kind of mood I want to be in--at work it's pretty much soothing stuff such as new age (Andreas Vollenwieder) or Native American drums--in the car it's anything with a good rhythm like Daughtry, Muse or Journey (which may explain that last speeding ticket)--at home it's smooth jazz or light classical for backgkround noise. But I'm also into "the classics" like Styx, Foreigner, Billy Joel, Meatloaf, Earth Wind and Fire, the Monkees, the Beatles, I could go on and on

Food: Seafood (too bad Wet Willy's Crab Deck in Baltimore doesn't do the steamed garlic crabs anymore--they were to die for!), Indian, almost anything really. But I won't eat goat--ask me why sometime.

What is the meaning of life? What's going on in the lives of the people I care about? How do you know for sure that the light goes off when you shut the refrigerator door? Why do men have nipples (actually, I know why, but I still find it *curious*). Is there intelligent life in the Universe? Is there any intelligent life in Nebraska? Where the hell did I leave that other set of keys?

Working--hey, it's my schedule. But on those rare Fridays when I'm not working I'm out with friends, taking in a good movie, or curled up in bed with a good book. Just depends.
