I work from home as a professional songwriter/jingle writer and studio musician. I write, sing and play a wide range of instruments and am all across the board in terms of musical genres. It occupies most of my time. I've found that when you run your own business, there is no "leaving work behind" - it always remains on the mind... But it is something that I do enjoy doing as it involves my passion and creativity.
I'd like to think that I have a wide array of interests and characteristics that may at times seem contradicting to some, but I like to call it being well balanced. As I mentioned before, I am a musician and an artist so I am driven to create. My muse speaks to me and I listen. I also have the tendency to want to throw myself into somewhat dangerous situations to challenge my body to the fullest. I want to be an incredible recreational athlete although I do not care much for 'working out' or sports - They are fun to play but in my opinion, not fun to watch. Why watch when you can be part of the game? It's like watching people have sex on tv.. Oh wait..
As far as being a "recreational athlete," I enjoy doing long distance swims to other islands, snorkeling for hours at a time, scuba diving, and rock climbing. I'm looking forward to trying out other things as well.. Haven't ventured out into skiing and snowboarding yet but one of these days I will.
I am a nerd and a geek. I love learning and wish that we lived in a country where university was free so I could be going to school forever. I switched between 10-12 majors in my undergrad years (but it only took me 4 yrs to graduate).. I guess that makes me indecisive but I'd like to think that I'm curious about the world.
I love learning new languages. I pick up on language rather quickly, and I hope to be able to utilize my language learning skills by traveling to other countries.
I'm a bit of a gamer geek although not so much now than before. I used to spend hours playing games like Star Craft, Diablo II, Champions of Norath, Baldur's Gate, and Icewind Dale, along with some FPSs and other 2 player RPG co-ops. Now I just don't really have the time, although I do still play some Steve Jackson card games like Chez Geek and Munchkin with some friends if we're having a dinner gathering or something like that.
