My self-summary
I am a musician, an artist, an adventurer, and a wanderer.

I work from home as a professional songwriter/jingle writer and studio musician. I write, sing and play a wide range of instruments and am all across the board in terms of musical genres. It occupies most of my time. I've found that when you run your own business, there is no "leaving work behind" - it always remains on the mind... But it is something that I do enjoy doing as it involves my passion and creativity.

I'd like to think that I have a wide array of interests and characteristics that may at times seem contradicting to some, but I like to call it being well balanced. As I mentioned before, I am a musician and an artist so I am driven to create. My muse speaks to me and I listen. I also have the tendency to want to throw myself into somewhat dangerous situations to challenge my body to the fullest. I want to be an incredible recreational athlete although I do not care much for 'working out' or sports - They are fun to play but in my opinion, not fun to watch. Why watch when you can be part of the game? It's like watching people have sex on tv.. Oh wait..

As far as being a "recreational athlete," I enjoy doing long distance swims to other islands, snorkeling for hours at a time, scuba diving, and rock climbing. I'm looking forward to trying out other things as well.. Haven't ventured out into skiing and snowboarding yet but one of these days I will.

I am a nerd and a geek. I love learning and wish that we lived in a country where university was free so I could be going to school forever. I switched between 10-12 majors in my undergrad years (but it only took me 4 yrs to graduate).. I guess that makes me indecisive but I'd like to think that I'm curious about the world.

I love learning new languages. I pick up on language rather quickly, and I hope to be able to utilize my language learning skills by traveling to other countries.

I'm a bit of a gamer geek although not so much now than before. I used to spend hours playing games like Star Craft, Diablo II, Champions of Norath, Baldur's Gate, and Icewind Dale, along with some FPSs and other 2 player RPG co-ops. Now I just don't really have the time, although I do still play some Steve Jackson card games like Chez Geek and Munchkin with some friends if we're having a dinner gathering or something like that.
What I’m doing with my life
I run my own songwriting business. I write, perform and record custom songs for clients - some are for "personal interest" and many are jingles for small businesses around the world.

This is what takes up 90% of my time.. I'm primarily just working at building up my business :)
I’m really good at
Music :) Give me an instrument and I'll play it, although I generally tend to focus on my guitar, piano, sax (alto and tenor), and then branch out to the flute, clarinet, and trumpet. I also write/compose and/or record/produce songs on a daily basis, so I am always creating.

Thinking fast - I used to be in an improv troupe and loved it. You've got to be quick on your feet and clever. I'm a little out of practice in terms of improv theater goes, but I can be a good verbal spar partner and I'm always coming up with answers to many of the universe's unsolved questions. Maybe.

I'm also an excellent driver :)
The first things people usually notice about me
I guess that's for you to find out.. But really, my perception of what someone may notice about me is probably not necessarily true, but what I emit at first may be my energy and radiance.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
When it comes to books, I'm very technical. I have many books on my shelves but they tend to be riddled with books on language, nutrition, art, politics, and history. I'm kind of a nerd. :p Alright, so for fiction, I'm currently reading the Terry Brooks' Landover tales (a fantasy series)

Movies - Stranger than Fiction, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I <3 Huckabees, Garden State, Supersize Me, Batman: Dark Knight, Rain Man, Groundhog Day, Truman Show, Shrek series, Disney animated films from the 90s (shows my age).. A lot of these movies are old. I don't watch a lot of movies today.

Shows: Family Guy, American Dad, Simpsons, South Park, some anime (like Death Note), Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Newsroom, Grimm, Taxi..

Music - Music from the 60s-80s (The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Hendrix, Prince, The Cars, Hall & Oates, Electric Light Orchestra, Queen, Michael Jackson, Primus, to name a few..) And "indie rock" like The Decemberists and Death Cab for Cutie, although they have gotten a lot more mainstream nowadays. I absolutely love Elliott Smith.. I don't think I could ever get tired listening to his music. I also like Rachael Yamagata, Belle and Sebastian, Cake, Radiohead, Rosewood Thieves, etc.

Food - I'm a vegetarian so I tend to enjoy food without meat :)
I also consider myself a foodie, so I'm not what you may think a vegetarian likes - "plain ol rice and beans and a salad." I tend to like my food how I like my life - full of flavor, spice, and adventure! I love Thai, Indian, Chinese, and Mexican when eating out although I love most "ethnic" foods.. Ethiopian is awesome, Italian, French, German, Korean, etc.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Music and how much I hate today's pop music, and how I could write an entire book about the downfall of music today and what has led us here, along with the over-simplification of 4/4 beats at 120 bpm with a steady "thump thump thump" in almost every other song you hear playing on the radio or in a store/restaurant, lyrics that are literally mind numbing and over-repetitive, instrumental music that lacks depth and any form of creativity.. I could go on, but I won't - Not here, anyway.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working. Because I run my own business and work from home, a Friday night is just like any other night to me. I'm either working on writing a song or recording in the studio, or I'm out performing a live gig at a club.
