I am inquisitive, opinionated, and steadfast.

My Self-Summary

Here's the basics. I like to think I'm funny but my sense of humor is lost on most, even myself. I work hard, I veg hard, and I play hard when I'm up for playing. To be completely honest I'm a workaholic. I graduated in December and have been working ever since. My job takes up a lot of my time.

I'm a very goal oriented person. When I have a goal I let very little get in my way in the course of accomplishing that goal. My current goals include finishing my undergrad, getting an MBA and maybe law school at some point but the MBA comes first. I'd also like to work overseas if I have the chance.

Spending times with friends is a must. I love hanging out with those who are important to me and taking in the activities of the area. I grew up in a rural town so it's great to have so much within easy reach.

My passions include environmentalism, politics, and music. My political beliefs are leftist, this site accuses me of being a socialist but I wouldn't categorize myself as that far to the left. I can't remember ever voting for a known republican.

Recently it has come to my attention that a few of my female friends believe that I am metrosexual as a result of the fact that I brought 8 pairs of shoes with me and I try to match colors and have an eye for some colors. This I believe is untrue and slanderous. The shoes are all quite reasonable in regards to function. When I explain my reasoning they tell me that I am in denial.

What I’m doing with my life

Finished the undergrad and am working. I spend a lot of time doing things involving work. I'd say my typical week is between 45 and 50 hours and some have shot up to 60+. I've started woodworking lately, I've built a hope chest for my niece and am currently working on a workbench for myself.

I’m really good at

Making horrible jokes that no one else thinks are funny. Self-depreciating humor. Analyzing costs. Learning how things work.

I also make a mean Long Island Iced Tea.

The first things people usually notice about me

Depends on the setting. If it's a one-on-one interaction they get more out of me. In groups I take time to learn the group dynamic.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

A.) Anything by Dale Brown, Sun Tzu's "The Art of War", Miyamato Mushashi's "The Book of Five Rings". This summer I've read Heller's "Catch 22" and also been working on the sequel to that "Closing Time." The writing style is different. Recently I tore through the Robert Jordan "Wheel of Time" series in 7 weeks. Next on the list is Thomas Friedman's "The World is Flat" then maybe Chomsky's "Manufacturing Consent"

B.) I'm not really a huge movie person but here's a few that I own: Dr. Strangelove, Blazing Saddles, Animal House, The Punisher, and Boondock Saints.

C.) Typically rock, metal, alternative, some punk, some older stuff.

D.) A nice NY strip cooked medium.

The six things I could never do without

Well I guess it comes down to the tangible and the intangibles.

The Intangibles:
Quiet time to reflect, my dignity, intelligent conversation, ideas, information, and happiness

The Tangibles:
My car, My computer, cigarettes, caffiene, books, and paper

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I'm a very introspective person. I get a lot of answers and understanding to the world from looking within. Not because I'm the living embodiment of the rest of the world but because by looking into myself and putting myself into another person's shoes I can generally get a little insight into their motivations. It makes it easier to understand the motivations of others.

On a typical Friday night I am

It's somewhat sad but Friday night is more of a shopping night now. Go out and do the weekly shopping so that the Saturday crowds can be avoided. I don't exactly have patience for waiting in line.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Serious: I was a lot different when I was younger.

Light: I was 24 when I rode my first roller coaster.

I didn't fly commercially till I was 27 years old and because of work.

Annoying: I own almost 20 pairs of shoes that I can wear on any given day that doesn't involve work. I own 6 pairs of shoes that I would work wear to work (Three styles, each style one pair of brown and an identical pair of black).

You should message me if

If we share some interests. We match up pretty well using the metrics they have created here. I'm just looking for friends and the occasional person to hang out with. I'm taken so more ain't gonna happen.
