My Self-Summary

I live in Western Washington. Because of that, I especially love the mountains, forests, and beaches. I play string bass for a volunteer symphony orchestra becuase I love classical music. I like watching movies of all genres including horror, animation, action, sci-fi, romance, musicals, and especially classics. I'm a fun-loving person at heart and I'm up for trying new things. I'm also a black belt in karate, though I'm not taking any lessons right now. I did take lessons for about ten years though. I like science fiction films and some t.v. series more than the average girl and really enjoy reading comic books.

What I’m doing with my life

Right now, I'm taking a quarter off of school so I can figure out what I want to do with my life. I am also working on finding a job since I got back not that long ago from doing an internship in Florida.

I’m really good at

I'm pretty good at playing the string bass (the stand-up orchestra that's bigger than a cello and deeper sounding). I also have a knack for remembering different facts about films. Like what year a lot of films were released. And films that won Best Picture at the Oscars. And memorizing random facts in general.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm pretty casual. I wear a lot of t-shirts and jeans with sneakers. I like to have fun and enjoy a good laugh. I can be a bit direct with people. And a little fast to anger, because I can get really easily annoyed by "stupid people." If you asked me to see either a romantic comedy or an action movie, I would most likely want to see the action movie because that's how I was brought up. I also usually get a lot of compliments on my smile.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: The Princess Bride, the Harry Potter series, Sabriel, Gone with the Wind, and fairy tale collections. Also comic books. I like pretty much anything in the Marvel universe and D.C.'s Batman comics.
Movies: Star Trek film series (for the most part), the original Star Wars triology, Raiders of the Lost Ark, most films in the Disney canon, a lot of MGM movie musicals, and horror films (in general). My movie list is very long.
Music: classic rock (Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, the Eagles, Queen), classical (Stravinsky is my favorite composer along with Tchaikovsky), and soundtracks from films (pretty varied, but I like Jerry Goldsmith and John Williams the best).
Food: Thai, teriyaki, anything with a lot of cheese (except I'm not a huge fan of Mexican), and ribs.

The six things I could never do without

My family, my best friends, being away from the mountains (tried it once - it sucked), Thai food (a small addiction), my kitties (I have two - both are over the age of 10), and a television (so I can watch movies).

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The future. Just in general, really. I also like to play a lot of "what it" scenarios in my head. Really random things too. Like what I would do in the case of the zombie apocalypse.

On a typical Friday night I am

Usually hanging around with my friends or with my family. If I'm hanging out with my friends, we're often doing something like going out to dinner or seeing a movie or something random, like going to the mall to pull up the pants on the Hollister mannequins. If I'm with my family, we like to stay at home and watch movies or t.v. shows together. Sometimes we play board or card games.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm self-concious about myself in many areas, but I'm much more confident than I used to be. But, I'm still quite shy.
