My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I guess I'm kind of quirky but I have a decent sense of humor. My bumper sticker collection contains one that says "I <3 Dorks." True Story. I try to never stop learning. Traveling, nature and music are big passions of mine... think I'm overdue for a good road-trip. Who's in?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Teaching........ when the opportunity presents itself.
Learning........ always.
Laughing....... whenever possible.
Playing............especially with my nephew (who I'm convinced is a 50-year-old man trapped in an almost 6-year-old body) and with my cat, Penny (who is a long-haired Calico diva who is very in touch with her "inner dog." She even plays fetch. Seriously.)
Collecting....... I like magnets. They're so functional, and quaint, and affordable, and compact. What's not to like? I also try to collect expensive papers, i.e. degrees: just got my MSEd. in December, have a Teaching Certificate, a B.S. in Environmental Studies (hence the screen name), and a Graduate Certificate in Ocean Studies. Woop woop.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
(How do you answer this without sounding like an arrogant snob? )
Anyway, first thing that came to my mind is: I'm pretty good at writing (usually), having fun, working with kids and animals, traveling, and speaking French. Oh and I can't cook, but I will tear up the dance floor any day of the week, and twice on Sundays. Bring it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
are my substantial hair and my larger than normal eyes. That's physically-speaking though. I've also been told that I have a dry, sarcastic sense of humor.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. water (potable and otherwise)
2. sunshine (at least once or twice a week)
3. family / friends
4. books (preferably in print but Kindle-versions too)
5. freedom (in every sense of the word)
6. lovable animals (pets, farm animals, shelter dogs, what-have-you)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
the future..... (take from that what you will. Or ask me about the details)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
.......tired. I subscribe to the "work hard / play hard" mentality. Friday evenings are often "me-time" during which I recover from the week by doing something relaxing (taking a nap, watching a movie, going for a walk, hangin' out with girlfriends, etc.) Saturday nights, however, are for partying!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
is that I have a massive crush on Jimmy Fallon. Big time.
