My self-summary
"Seriousness is stupidity sent to college."
~ PJ O'Rourke

I am and yearn for cultural amalgam

I've lived many places and find my myself settling in. Its a good choice. I'm coming to terms with the fact that I like brightly colored things. I like to get the best of both worlds. My shoes fluctuate between size 9-10. I like indoor wall climbing. I'm not very good at sports involving balls. You'll beat me at pool, unless I'm really a shark. I don't like sleeves, and wear girl tank tops because they fit better. I like food, especially the kind eaten with your hands. You cook better than I do. I get satisfaction from a home plumbing job done right. I don't consider a disjointed collusion of "I" sentences to be good writing. I don't own a car, but I do have kayak racks. I'm so up my own ass that I work at a non-profit. I'm sarcastic. Make me laugh and I'll like you. I love movie previews but hate reading the backs of books. Recommend me a good book or movie. I have a not-so-secret obsession of watching music videos on youtube. Gender/sexuality ambiguity is HOT. I like proportioned bodies. I drink like I'm half-irish. I could probably kick you in the head. I know exactly when to act my age, and when not to. Its usually the latter. I know enough to know that I don't know much. Please keep me posted on news, political climates, verbose vernacular, and philosophy. I greatly enjoy how you think.

I am multifaceted, adaptable, and invigorating
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently working for an endangered species non profit as the jack-of-all trades office manager, proposal editor, report producer, and hit-the-file server-when-it's-not-working guy. And I have to hit that sucker a lot. But, at the end of the day, I love that I'm a part of making the planet a better place, even if most of it is busy work and cursing at computers.

I hope to go to grad school (soon) and get an MBA with an international development focus. Though I currently deal with animals, people are my passion. I'm a social scientist at heart, and want to be part of the development process.
I’m really good at
Adventures, interesting conversation, indoor wall climbing, making you laugh, making an ass out of myself, physical balance and flexibility, dressing up in ridiculous costumes, talking, listening, learning new things, supporting my friends, looking on the bright side of everything.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes and smile will let you know when mischief is afoot.

I've been told that I radiate a friendly and comforting vibe. They also tell me I'm vibrant and look young for my age. One of these days I won't get carded...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:
ALDOUS HUXLEY, Pillars of the Earth, CLIVE BARKER, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, HARUKI MURAKAMI, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and all Douglas Adams, The Heart of Darkness, The Stranger, The Communist Manifesto, Ethical Slut, Goodnight Moon, DAVID SEDARIS, Ishmael, Antigone, KURT VONNEGUT, Fingerprints of the Gods, My Side of the Mountain (REMEMBER that book?!?). I quite enjoy the French existentialists. Satre's my BOY!

As a side note I detest Ayn Rand, I believe her writing removes compassion from the human equation and thus spawns heartless Libertarian bastards that step on anyone and everyone to get to the top. And no, I wasn't dumped by someone who just read Atlas Shrugged.

Movies:
What Dreams May Come, Before Sunrise, I <3 Huckabees, Pan's Labyrinth, Blade, Hellraiser I and II (and all Clive Barker), Labyrinth, Citizen Kane, Never Ending Story, Clockwork Orange (and all Stanley Kubrick) Zoolander, Army of Darkness, Shaolin Soccer, Drunken Master and Legend of the Drunken Master, ZOOLANDER, If Lucy Fell, Pirates of the Carribean, AI, Boondock Saints, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Peter Pan, Coming to America, Spinal Tap (and all Christopher Guest), Princess Bride, Quills, Flight of the Navigator, PORN, Finding Nemo, Donnie Darko, Amelie, City of Lost Children, , Seven, The Craft, Death to Smoochy, Fight Club, The Jungle Book, PORN, Vampire Hunter D, Ricki - O, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Edward Scissor Hands (and all Tim Burton), Back to the Future Trilogy, Man Bites Dog, Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie, PORN, Life is Beatiful, The Royal Tenembaums, LIFE AQUATIC (and all Wes Anderson), The Dark Crystal...and The Red Balloon and The Bicycle Thief for you uppity French connoisseurs.

Music:
Though I have my roots in punk, metal and crazy shows, I also like the dancy electronic and goth/industrial stuff. I take time to see great live shows and DJs, as deeply respect people who can play string instruments well.
Bands/groups DJs I'm into now: Arcade Fire, The Knife, The Cure, Micheal Franti, Ferry Corsten, Journey, Gogol Bordello, Spalding Rockwell, MGMT, Depeche Mode, Erasure, The Life Aquatic Soundtrack, Trance Global Nation Vol.2, Benny Benassi, Deftones, Gorrilaz, Republica, Johnny Cash, Glitch Mob, and the list goes on...

Food: Vietnamese Pho is a staple of mine, as well as most Asian cuisine. Sushi is amazing, and I also like to get veggie burgers with bacon on it - just to get a weird look. Tastes good too.
I'm not picky with food, and love it all. There's a very good chance I've eaten way more ridiculous stuff than you in my travels and enjoyed every minute of it.
The six things I could never do without
1. Conversation

2. The Ocean

3. Dreams

4. Sense of Humor

5. Breakfast food

6. The curtain to my bedroom window
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Humorous existentialism. Life has no predetermined meaning, so we're free to make up our own. I'm highly interested in this concept, and what meaning people create for themselves. I'm interested in where people have come from, and where they are going. Dreams and goals matter, and if you don't have them I want to know why.

I really get into movies and the underlying philosophical meanings behind the deep ones.

I'm highly intrigued by the similarities between ancient civilizations and how advanced they were comparatively to where we are now. Don't get me started on ancient civilizations if you aren't prepared for an energetic talk which could result in me swiping the coffee out of a passerby's hand on accident.
True story.
On a typical Friday night I am
I like to go out and dance - the music could be anything from new wave, punk, house, goth, industrial, club techno, or monkeys banging wooden spoons on pots. Whatever gets people movin'

Also, whiskey.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Shortly after birth I was sold to a Bedouin caravan for two goats and a pack of Lucky Strikes.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–35
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends
You should message me if
Message me if you want someone engaging to talk with, and if you want someone to explore the city and surrounding area with. If you are open to new things and and like people for WHO they are, and not what they look like or what you think their sexuality is.

Sense of humor required.
