My self-summary
FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm not in Madison yet, but will be there by September as I am going back to school this fall.

Hey there! I'm Eric.

I'm a laid-back, fun-loving, somewhat goofy kind of guy hidden away behind an introverted nature. Yeah, I'm the kind of person who tends to be more reserved when I first meet people. Give me a little time and I open right up. You'll find that I'm kind of a dork.

I often joke or make puns. Usually the really bad ones. Particularly if I'm not sure what to say. I like to be laughing and to make others laugh - a good sense of humor is very important to me.

I enjoy just hanging out with a few friends, throwing on a movie or catching up on whatever series I've been watching lately. I prefer to keep to smaller groups of people than go out with large crowds, but I certainly don't want to just lock myself up at home, either.

I would describe myself as a geek. I enjoy board games, card games, and a myriad of other tabletop games. I am also interested in video games, however I tend to gravitate towards older titles from the 80s and early 90s.

I am a terrible procrastinator. I will finish up this summary before.... oh, The Walking Dead is on...
What I’m doing with my life
I will be going back to school this fall in Madison, WI. I have a couple of really good friends who are helping me out.

Other than that, my time is taken up with working and hobbies. Trying to go out for walks more, and I keep trying to rope people in to go out with me, but it's just not happening. Hey, you wanna go for a walk with me? Let's make it happen.
Maybe I ought to buy a bike.

I've started working on my own board game. I think it would be really cool to have a game out there that I can claim as my own. I'm really early on, with only the basic concept and background, but I'm actually kind of excited to see where I can take it.
I’m really good at
I am good at all of the things. All of them. It's true. But in particular:

Painting and customizing miniatures, Megaman video games, uh... math, and being lazy. I'm awesome at being lazy! I would never lie about that.

Listening. I'm always happy to just let you go off and get a good rant in, tell me about your day, or anything else on your mind.
The first things people usually notice about me
This feels like something you'd ask other people who know me. So that's what I did. Here are a couple of thoughts from my friends:
"I had you pegged as someone pretty quirky; amusing one moment and strict disciplinarian the next."
"I remember noticing that you were a guy."
"You always said exactly what you thought. You were honest with people."
"You have a great smile and you're really friendly and easy to approach. You seemed like a really sweet guy that would be easy to talk to."
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Trying to read more these days. Recommend something to me! I've always wanted to read Isaac Asimov works, so I think I'll pick something of his up soon.
I have typically been more into comics, manga, and graphic novels. I really liked Watchmen, am enjoying The Walking Dead, and am always open to suggestions.

Movies: It's hard to pick favorites without typing up a massive list. There are some movies I can watch over and over again and never get tired of them, such as Back to the Future, Liar Liar, The Fifth Element or The Shawshank Redemption. I typically enjoy Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Action, Comedy, and combinations thereof.

Television: Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis. Easily amongst my favorite television series to date. I also finally watched Breaking Bad and was hooked immediately. Blew through all of it in about two weeks!
I've been really into The Walking Dead these days. I don't always catch it when it airs, but I'm sure to download what I missed the next day.
I also enjoy Conan when I remember to watch, as well as Scrubs, House, Family Guy, Futurama, and a variety of anime series.
Other shows I enjoy, at least from time to time: Restaurant Impossible, Bar Rescue, Pawn Stars, American Pickers, Mythbusters, Survivorman, Dirty Jobs, Corner Gas (a Canadian sitcom), Third Rock from the Sun, Ace of Cakes, Good Eats (Alton Brown is awesome), Chopped, older episodes of The Simpsons, Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and I'm sure there are more...

Music: I have no real favorite band or type of music. My playlist has a lot of different styles and genres. I would say I tend to favor classic rock such as Guns N Roses, Queen, Journey, Rush, etc. as well as a ton of other stuff from the 80s.

Food: Pizza and cheesecake would be my two top favorites, but I'm trying to eat more healthy foods these days.
The six things I could never do without
» A sense of humor
» My friends
» The Internet
» Creativity
» Hobbies
» [witty and totally original joke about air/water/food/shelter]
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Taking a nap, but never actually doing it.
What I really want to do for a more long-term career.
What I should do with this miniature... why am I not painting?
On a typical Friday night I am
On the internet, chatting with friends and/or playing some type of video/board game, possibly online with friends. Going to a movie with friends. Also friends. Perhaps some friends will be involved.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm really weird. And I love it. A lot.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 21–35
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
...you understand that "u" is a letter and "you" is a word.

...you want to help me conquer the world.

...you share in any of my geekdom.

...you want to.

There are probably many other good reasons. Think up something creative!

I'm not really looking for an international relationship, so I'd like to keep things of that nature within the U.S. Preferably in the midwest, but travel within the country is so much easier, so I'm willing to reach farther if I were to meet somebody.

I have a number of good friends up in Canada (and in Mexico, Japan, and Europe as well), though, so I'm happy to make friendships across borders.
