My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I love a sense of humor, stand-up comedy is one of my favorite things. Shows at local Minneapolis bars are a must in the summer, and bonfires in my backyard on the weekend are an all time favorite. I absolutely love horror movies that actually give you nightmares. I like fixing things around my house myself instead of hiring someone if I can.

I am not looking for my "other half" or someone to "complete me" I am totally complete and happy on my own. I am happy with my life, who I am, and where I am going. Rather, I am looking for someone to add to my life.

Most weekends will find me working on the house in some way, which I really enjoy. I'd rather be at Home Depot than any mall, clothing or shoe store

I happen to be one of those girls that isn't into the new beard trend.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I was recently laid off, so while I'm looking for full time employment I am catching up on a lot of things I've been wanting to do. I'm learning to cook real food, getting some projects around the house done, spending time with friends that aren't working, and I've gotten to go back to teaching knitting and working at my friends store part time.

My knitting is a big part of me. I love being creative and learning new things, and knitting lets me do that. If you laugh at my knitting, I will never knit you a hat. And trust me, you want me to knit you a hat.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I can get along with just about anyone. I love getting out just to meet new people. There are very few times that I can't find something in common with someone. Unless they start talking about religion. Or babies.

I can also sleep for a 14 hour stretch no problem. Always have been able to. I was the best kid ever.
The first things people usually notice about me

I am not, in fact, Jodie Foster. I appreciate the comparison, I find it flattering, but it's just the hair in the photo. I'm more of a Drew Barrymore in person.

I am probably more honest than you are used to. You will always know where you stand with me. Life is too short to lie or sugar coat.

I will cut you if you call me sassy. Women are not sassy. 2 year olds are sassy. I am an adult woman that has an opinion.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Joyce Carol Oates is my favorite author. I generally tend to pick horror novels, and I believe that I am physically allergic to romance novels or romantic comedies.

I tend to be a bit of a TV nut, though I won't watch any reality tv, it's almost always dvds, netflix, or hulu. If I'm watching live TV it's football. Yes, I like football.

All time favorite movies, True Romance and Sliding Doors, but usually horror and thrillers are my genre. Even if it's a bad horror, I will probably love it anyway.

Favorite shows? Walking Dead, American Horror, The Leftovers, and a bunch of others that are guilty pleasures.

All of my cats except one are named after tv characters, you will get bonus points if I tell you their names and you know the shows.

Music is almost always local stuff or The Current. If I have music on, it's always the Current because I can never decide what to listen to.

I will also always choose Italian food if asked, and am allergic to all things fish.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Outside of normal friends, family and job,
My cats, nope not a crazy cat lady, just love my boys
Sleeping in
Netflix and cable tv
Beer
A sense of humor
Electricity. My power was out for 5 days last summer after the huge storm. The amount of things you take for granted until you have no power is overwhelming.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How much fun I can fit into the weekend and still get normal errands done.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
In the summer usually building a fire and hanging out in my backyard, or catching up with friends.

Otherwise having drinks at my house, or having beers with friends. Nothing too rowdy.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can't live without slippers. Even in the summer.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are happy with yourself. You aren't looking for some "other half" or someone to "complete" you. This is a must.

You should be more interested in nights with Netflix or HBO or a fire in the backyard with conversation than out partying.

I recently quit smoking. No smokers please, even the "when drinking" smokers.
