My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I love a sense of humor, stand-up comedy is one of my favorite things. Shows at local Minneapolis bars are a must in the summer, and bonfires in my backyard on the weekend are an all time favorite. I absolutely love horror movies that actually give you nightmares. I like fixing things around my house myself instead of hiring someone if I can.

I am not looking for my "other half" or someone to "complete me" I am totally complete and happy on my own. I am happy with my life, who I am, and where I am going. Rather, I am looking for someone to add to my life.

Most weekends will find me working on the house in some way, which I really enjoy. I'd rather be at Home Depot than any mall, clothing or shoe store.

I am just about as straightforward as they get. You will always know where you stand with me. If you ask me a question I will always either tell the truth or say it's too personal. Even small lies keep me up at night.

Important things about me, I don't want kids and I can't have kids. If you have them, that's great, I get along with kids and am not one of those people that won't date someone that has kids, but I'm not looking to be a Step-Mom. I can't even express how frustrating it is that so many guys have "doesn't have kids but might want them" in their profile. If you are in my age group, please figure out what you want and live by it

I am also a pretty serious Atheist. I absolutely respect the beliefs of others, but am looking for someone with a similar mindset on religion in a partner. If you send me a message saying you'll pray for me I will block you, because I really don't want to burst into flames.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work as a manager in health care collections. I love my job, but it is stressful. Weeknights will find me at home, trying to relax from a stressful day of being called x, y and z. Weekends I'm back to my cheery, awkward and usually hilarious self.

I also knit a lot. It's no longer a part of my income, but it is still a big part of me. I love being creative and learning new things, and knitting lets me do that. If you laugh at my knitting, I will never knit you a hat. And trust me, you want me to knit you a hat.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I can get along with just about anyone. I love getting out just to meet new people. There are very few times that I can't find something in common with someone. Unless they start talking about religion. Or babies.

I am not, in fact, Jodie Foster. I appreciate the comparison, I find it flattering, but it's just the hair in the photo. I'm more of a Drew Barrymore in person.

I'm as honest as they get. I don't sugar coat, I don't lie, I even have a hard time with small white lies. Some people find that rude or abrasive, others love it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Joyce Carol Oates is my favorite author. I generally tend to pick horror novels, and I believe that I am physically allergic to romance novels or romantic comedies.

I tend to be a bit of a TV nut, though I won't watch any reality tv, it's almost always dvds, netflix, or hulu. If I'm watching live TV it's football. Yes, I like football.

All time favorite movies, True Romance and Sliding Doors, but usually horror and thrillers are my genre. Even if it's a bad horror, I will probably love it anyway.

Favorite shows? Walking Dead, American Horror, The Leftovers, and a bunch of others that are guilty pleasures.

All of my cats except one are named after tv characters, you will get bonus points if I tell you their names and you know the shows.

Music is almost always local stuff or The Current. If I have music on, it's always the Current because I can never decide what to listen to.

I will also always choose Italian food if asked, and am allergic to all things fish.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Outside of normal friends, family and job,
My cats, nope not a crazy cat lady, just love my boys
Netflix and cable tv
A sense of humor
Electricity. My power was out for 5 days last summer after the huge storm. The amount of things you take for granted until you have no power is overwhelming.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How much fun I can fit into the weekend and still get normal errands done.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
In the summer usually building a fire and hanging out in my backyard, or catching up with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can't live without slippers. Even in the summer.

You are happy with yourself. You aren't looking for some "other half" or someone to "complete" you.

You should be more interested in nights with Netflix or HBO or a fire in the backyard with conversation than out partying.

I recently quit smoking. No smokers please, even the "when drinking" smokers.
