I’m one of those crazy people who genuinely enjoys running. And no, I’m not one of the ridiculously fast ultra-competitive runners. Don’t believe me? I once got passed near the finish line of a 10k race by a grandpa…pushing a stroller…with twins! Is that laughter I hear over the internet? In my defense, even the kids looked like they were on steroids. That still doesn’t make things sound any better, does it?

What else do I enjoy? Anything active (exercising, lifting weights at the gym, cycling, hiking, fishing, just being outside and exploring), I usually find to be enjoyable. I play trombone, but listen to everything from pop, rock, rap, jazz, classical, and oldies. Friends and family are an important part of who I am (clich?, but true). Goals, hopes, and dreams are what drive me and give me purpose.

I’m currently a grad student working on my phd in aeronautical engineering. It’s challenging, interesting, and just plain cool! What’s not to love? What do I plan to do when I graduate? I’ve been told that people in the real world spend their weekdays doing tasks and getting handed little green pieces of paper with pictures of presidents on them. Apparently as a professor, you get to spend your time learning and teaching about the things you’re passionate about. I think I’ll do that!
