I am purple, poetic, and a cuddle monster.

My Self-Summary

Why hello there, thanks for stoppin' by.

I am a writer of poetry and other things. I work in mental health, but lost my own long ago. My favourite colour is purple. I like cats. I love all animals in fact, but cats are my favourites I like vampires and vikings. I love hugs. I love piercings and tattoos. I have seven piercings but no tattoos (yet). I am more or less completely nocturnal which sometimes makes for quite a lonely existence. Such is life for a vampire changeling! I have an addiction to the use of smileys which I am currently trying to control (can you tell?). This is probably because I am quite a smiley person by nature.

Hmmm. I have realised that the above possibly makes me sound a little odd. Which I am, so it's for the best I suppose =)

But aside from all that I am just a little lost soul really, who would very much like to find kindred spirits :-)

What I’m doing with my life

Writing. Making sure my cat is pampered. Mental health advisory stuff and support work. Reading poetry and occasionally doing poetry readings (so fun!). Sleeping. Laughing and crying maniacally.

I’m really good at

Writing. I fluctuate between thinking I'm a genius and thinking I'm a complete failure, but I love it...I've always loved it.
Making people laugh.
Giving great hugs.
Changing the lyrics of songs so that they're about my cat.
Crumping. hehehehe

The first things people usually notice about me

Good question. I have partially red hair at the moment, possibly that? Also I'm quite oompa loompa-esque (but without the green hair, orange skin and sexy white overalls). That is to say, I am short. Though I wear high heels most of the time. Am I rambling?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Authors: Jackie Kay, Alice Walker, Maya Angelou, Lionel Shriver (read 'We Need to Talk About Kevin'...that book is astonishing and disturbing), Stephen King, Stephen Fry, Douglas Adams, Dave Barry, T.S Elliot, Roald Dahl...Dr Seuss is my hero.

Movies: Monty Python and the Holy Grail, American Beauty, I Heart Huckabees, Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre, The Hours, Love Actually, good and bad horror films

Music: So much...everything from Sigur Ros to System of a Down to Kanye West to Abba =) Stop laughing at me!

Food: Chocolate makes the world go round. As do sundried tomatoes. I also have to drink some form of caffeinated beverage while writing, I'm a bit OCD about it. It can't be coffee though. I don't know if the caffeine makes my writing better, but it probably makes it faster =)

The six things I could never do without

1. My Mum and my Helen (bestest friend in the whole widest world)

2. Writing, both my own and other people's. There is simply no comparison to the feeling I get when I'm writing something I'm really into, or reading something amazing. Bliss.

3. My secret world to hide away in. Group hugs are mandatory there.

4. My cat. She has taught me a lot about the value of being in the present moment. Cats never worry about stupid shit. They never think about the future or the past. They are wise.

5. Cuddles and affection, but I am living without these so I guess I can do without them after all!

6. Laughter. Mwahahahahahaha! Except less evil than that.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Whatever writing project I'm working on. How and where and when I can publish things. The fact that I think I should be doing more. Love. Lots of crazy things I can't really begin to explain here =)

On a typical Friday night I am

Probably writing down words that are banging against the walls of my brain. It's actually a lot more enjoyable than it sounds.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

- I really wish life was a musical

- I secretly long to be a rapper, or a burlesque queen. I don't know which is more unlikely :p

- I am extremely socially awkward. Some people confuse this with being anti-social, but it's not the same!

- I think life would be a lot easier if I was a cat.

You should message me if

You're kind and nice. You like hugs. You're lonely. You're happy. You're crazy in a non-stabby way. You're none of the above, but you want to =)
