I am fun-loving, multifaceted, and musically-inclined.
My Self-Summary
Originally from the midwest, I moved here about two years ago and
i'm still a little amazed with the bay area and northern
California.
Music is one of my
biggest passions (both listening and playing, and i go to
concerts whenever i can).
I also enjoy
social dancing,
hiking,
hanging out with people...anything
fun, really.
I'm comfortable & happy with who i am, but i'm always working
on improving myself as a person. I'm honest, caring, fiercely
loyal. I listen and i hear. I'm a hopeless romantic. I love to
laugh and make others laugh; i'm a dork at times because it's all
in good fun. I may be shy at first, but i tend to open up quickly.
What I’m doing with my life
I work in software development, and i spend a lot of my free time
enjoying music. I usually have something playing in the background,
and i've been learning acoustic
guitar and harboring delusions that i can
sing. I'm also a
drummer, although
i haven't played much in the past few years. I also enjoy hanging
out with people, hiking, social dance (mostly swing &
lindy hop at the moment),
and finding new things to try.
I’m really good at
The Moonwalk.
The first things people usually notice about me
Actually, i don't know; why don't you tell me?
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Music: I am a music addict; i'll listen to just about anything i
can get my hands on, and i go through many different phases
(everything from rock to hip-hop to classical). At the moment i'm
very into heavy metal and ethereal/trip-hop/darkwave. And 90s rock
(back when alternative was still alternative, if you know what i
mean).
Books: Too many to list; i've been a bookworm my whole life. Mostly
fiction (Stephen King and Neil Gaiman are my two favorite authors;
i also really enjoy Nick Hornby, Heinlein, Tolkien, Orwell, ...)
but i'm trying to branch out. I recently started working my way
through the classics, with varying results so far.
Movies: A little bit of everything, i guess; my tastes are
eclectic.
Food: Anything simple & tasty.
The six things I could never do without
1. Music
2. My close friends & family
3. Books
4. Internet connection
5. Humor/zaniness
6. Chilly weather
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where i've been and where i want to go (both literally and
metaphorically).
On a typical Friday night I am
At an awesome concert, out having drinks with friends, or enjoying
a low-key evening at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
