My self-summary
I'm pretty alright! Whimsical, cheerful, full of ready laughter and wanton joviality.

I want to meet someone who thinks they're pretty alright themselves, hopefully with some overlap. If you can make me laugh, that's huge, but I especially want someone with passion. Passion for life, for love, for growth, for anything! Whether it's music or cooking or writing or camping, I want to see your face light up at the mention of something.

I enjoy all sorts of things, particularly with the right company. Photography, music, movies, board games, video games, reading, karaoke, new foods, rock climbing, yoga, biking, hiking, skydiving - there aren't many things I can't enjoy!

Most of my friends and family are spread to the winds, so I would love to find some more people in the area to hang out with too. I like having friends from all walks of life!
What I’m doing with my life
Enjoying life with friends as often as possible.

For physical activities, I love yoga, rock climbing, hiking and camping.

For creative hobbies, I like to mix it up. I've been getting into whittling, candle-making, book-binding, and painting lately. I'm hoping to dig into some blacksmithing classes before the year is over.

Oh, and finding ways to be a better person. But who isn't?
I’m really good at
Making people laugh and feel better about life. I tend to have a pretty uplifting outlook, and a lot of my friends seem to appreciate my ability to stay optimistic. It's been said that I bring a certain vibrancy to the table.

People have also said my cooking and baking have gotten pretty stellar of late. I love rolling sushi, Mediterranean (we could be gyros, just for one day), Italian (fresh gnocchi? Don't mind if I do!), American (some pretty great 8-hour chili,) desserts (caramel-filled devil's food cake cookies? Yup!), if it's food, I probably love to cook and/or eat it.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my sense of humor. Maybe my eyes. Hard to say.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:
The Coldfire Trilogy was interesting, along with most of CS Freidman's work. World War Z was a hoot. Big fan of Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files. The Name of the Wind and Wise Man's Fear. Excellent writing, there. I just finished Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn trilogy (for the third time) and it continues to blow me away. His Stormlight Archive series has some of the greatest visuals I've ever had planted in my head. Peter Hamilton's "The Commonwealth Saga" and "The Void Trilogy," are fantastic.

Movies:
The Fountain, Casshern, The Crow, Hero, Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle were highly enjoyable. Garden State, Zombieland, Kick-Ass, The Usual Suspects, Snatch, Lock Stock, Equillibrium, American Beauty, Leon, Underworld and Red vs Blue also come to mind. Oh, and there are a few TV series that I've fell for. Firefly is amazing and Arrested Development is seriously one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time.

Music:
Mere words can't describe how I feel about music. I've always connected with songs of all kinds, and thrive on experiencing music (I absolutely adore singing and strumming a guitar).

I love music with the burning passion of a thousand desert suns.

My top 5 favorites are currently: The One AM Radio, The Go Find, The National, Joseph Arthur and VNV Nation.

The six things I could never do without
Music, Friends, Hope, Humor, Optimism and Music.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
All sorts of things. Music, friends, food, politics, circumstances, whatever.
On a typical Friday night I am
Looking to get together with friends for any random sort of encounter. From D&D to Rock Band, from musical collaboration to steaks and kabobs - anything is possible amongst good company.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I want a lot of things in life, but sometimes all I really want is someone to hold hands and sing loudly with.
You should message me if
... if you like to laugh. Between the witty banter, and the dumb jokes, it's gonna happen. Also, if you want someone that will sing along to hits of the 80s and 90s, I'm your man.

As a note, I've recently met someone, so I'm not on the market for dating.
