My self-summary
I hate summarizing myself. How do you sum up a lifetime of shaping experiences into a bite-sized blurb?
I don't know, but here goes.

I was born in Arizona, raised in both New Jersey and Oregon, then moved back and forth and all across America since.

Most of my friends and family are spread to the winds, so I would love to find some people in the area to hang out with.

I love doing just about everything. Photography, music, movies, board games, video games, reading, karaoke, new foods, rock climbing, biking, hiking, skydiving - there aren't many things I don't enjoy, with the right company.

I can get along with just about anyone, though people who can appreciate a wry sense of humor loaded with sarcasm are probably going to jive best.
What I’m doing with my life
Working in Information Technology here in Fort Worth.

Oh, and finding ways to be a better person. But who isn't?
I’m really good at
Making people laugh and feel better about life.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my sense of humor. Maybe my eyes. Hard to say.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:

The Coldfire Trilogy was interesting, along with most of CS Freidman's work. World War Z was another recent favorite. Big fan of Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files, too. A recent addition to the list would be The Name of the Wind. Excellent writing, there. I just finished Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn trilogy, and it blew me away. Also recently read Peter Hamilton's "The Commonwealth Saga" and "The Void Trilogy," both of which were fantastic.

Movies:

The Fountain, Casshern, The Crow, Hero, Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle were highly enjoyable. Garden State, Zombieland, Kick-Ass, The Usual Suspects, Snatch, Lock Stock, Equillibrium, American Beauty, Leon, Underworld and Red vs Blue also come to mind. Oh, and there are a few TV series that I've fell for. Firefly is amazing and Arrested Development is seriously one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Oh, and Dexter is pretty interesting. Gotta love dichotomy.

Music:

Mere words can't describe how I feel about music. I love music with the burning passion of a thousand desert suns.

My top 5 favorites are: The One AM Radio, The Go Find, The National, Joseph Arthur and VNV Nation.

6 recent love affairs:

Beat Connection - Silver Screen
Of Monsters and Men - Mountain Sound
Ed Sheeran - The A Team
Foals - Spanish Sahara
The Shins - Australia
Bon Iver - Blood Bank
The six things I could never do without
Music, Friends, Hope, Humor, Optimism and Music.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
All sorts of things. Music, friends, food, politics, circumstances, whatever.
On a typical Friday night I am
Looking to get together with friends for any random sort of encounter. From D&D to Rock Band, from musical collaboration to steaks and kabobs - anything is possible amongst good company.

I've always said; It's not what you're doing, but who you're doing it with.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have an unreasonable fear of deep water? I dunno, I'm a pretty open person, so "private" in this case is probably more in line with "hasn't come up in conversations much."
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 25–35
  • Near me
  • For new friends
You should message me if
... if you can handle sarcasm, witty banter, dry humor and someone that's been accused of Grand Asshattery (In the humorous sense, not the 'I choke kittens sense), drop me a line. All others need not apply.

Also, if you would like to brain-storm about anything at all artistic, please, I'd love to hear from you. Or if you just want someone to converse with (I promise I won't dominate the conversation, unless you want me to.) at odd hours of the day.
