My self-summary
I am a passionate, fun-spirited, romantic soul. I care deeply for those close to me. I tend to see the positive connections in life and try not to dwell on the bad. Life's about looking up and reaching out. And it's what you make of it -- this quote says it for me "Traveler, there is no road, the road is made by walking."

But quite honestly, how can one summarize oneself in a nice neat little paragraph? Perhaps I should add something about where I've been - top of Ularu in Australia, swimming in the azure seas of Tahiti, riding a horse in The Cotswald countryside of England, walking cobblestone hills of Vico Morcote...does where you've been describe who you are? I think the way you travel does reveal something about your personality. Wanting to explore off the beaten path, dine with the locals and not the tourists, experience the wine, food, culture as seen through friends who live there..hey, I think I've managed to tie my first paragraph quote to this second paragraph - my 11th grade English teacher would be proud!
What I’m doing with my life
After 2.5 years of taking a big bite out of the New York apple, this California girl is heading back to California which is where I'm from. I moved to NY for a great job opportunity in Manhattan, and loved living here. But now that the work gig is over, I'm heading back home.

As for what I like to do, the list is long and eclectic. . The arts and culture in Manhattan are non-stop - I love exploring the Met, MoMA and the Guggenheim, and going to Lincoln Center to watch a ballet. But I'm just as happy to walk through Central Park, hike in the hills, enjoy a gorgeous sunset stroll looking out on PCH, or even trot a horse along the shore...I guess what I'm saying is that I appreciate the arts and like mental stimulation, but also enjoy and feel connected to nature. I've come to realize at this point in my life that I prefer living at least near a city that offers culture, the arts - uptown museums but village dining and shopping - as well as multicultural diversity. And then enjoy getting away and breathing fresh air, looking out on the hills, ocean, and enjoying a quieter laid back pace as well.

When it comes to love and romance, I think there needs to be some sense of shared interests, for two people to have that initial connection. But I also believe that one can learn and grow from your partner's interests and passions in life -- you don't have to be mirror images of each other to make it work, more complementary partners (compliments also appreciated!) I believe cultivating friendship first is a wonderful idea - but if there isn't that initial spark or chemistry, then friendship is all it will ever be. I can list all the words people use in this space to describe the perfect union: trust, respect, support, love, flexibility, etc. But I've learned that it's all about finding your soul mate - the rest flows naturally from that: agape, eros, philias...

What I like in a man -- someone passionate about his interests. Someone who creates his own unique style, in the way he acts, talks, dresses...more true to himself than to some prescribed image. A guy who enjoys making others laugh (often self-deprecating humor), who is witty, smart and maybe still has a bit of that mischievous boy aspect to him.

I think you know almost immediately if there's potential with someone. "Sometimes it's just taking a person's hand and it's like .... "magic."
