Busy science career. Stupid busy. But fulfilling and interesting. Plus I get paid to do something I like and am good at. It also gets me out in the wilderness all around the world.

When I'm not working, I don't generally talk science. I'd rather tell stories, go see live music, go dancing, workout, and talk about life, the world, sports, politics, books, movies, music, farming and country life, and dogs (I have a dog).

Science. Traveling around North America, Europe, Russia. Spending time with family on our farm, friends, neighbors, and my dog. I watch and attend sport (Tigers, Red Wings) and music events when I can - fairly often right now. Working out, dancing, and playing sports whenever possible. Learning Russian for my fieldwork and vacation in Russia coming this summer. Planning trips to and work in Siberia.

My career (science), drinking bourbon, dancing, 4 wheel driving (I get paid to do this sometimes), laughing, cooking (do you like homemade buttermilk biscuits?), and telling stories. Also using chop sticks and relaxing. Spotting wildlife from long distances. #Moose

My hair. My laugh. My blue eyes. My occasional cursing. My curves - they are impossible to hide. My slight southern accent. Also, I'm intense.

Non-fiction books, "The Big Lebowski" (and all other Coen Brothers films), "Ghostbusters", "Venture Brothers", "Metalocalypse". I surround myself with music. And know lots of musicians.

I love movies. Haven't had a lot of time to go recently - though I caught "Silver Linings Playbook" and "Wreck It Ralph" when I was upgraded on flight from Paris to Detroit. I loved both. ;) Not a fan of modern horror movies. But do love "Silence of the Lambs", "Army of Darkness", and anything by David Lynch. Big fan of documentaries. Check out "Resurrect Dead." Not what it sounds like.

Bourbon, human connections, coffee/tea, internet, tofu, and the Smartest Man in the World podcast. #7 is my dog. #8 is satellite data. #9 is spicy food. #10 My sports apps (ESPN, MLB, Red Wings).

Going to see the Tigers more. Preferably on work days.

There is no "typical" in my life. Recently, I've been in Geneva and Vienna. Sometimes I'm in Kentucky or up in Houghton. Right now I'm in Maine. At the end of June I'll be in Moscow. Even though I'm busy, I make time for friends and family.
