My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm an atypical guy that grew up in the rural part of Rhode Island that likes to try to find meaning in atypical places. I'm a geek and proud of it. I like to sail and love the power of wind and water and interactions thereof. I like knowing things, but I know knowing doesn't always provide true knowledge. I like living near enough to friends but also close enough to somewhere worth exploring. I find that a safe city with Irish pubs and friends can be quite enjoyable. I spent a year in Germany and found that learning a language to fluency can open lots of opportunities (including fun vacation spots! :D ). I hopped over to Italy, Greece, and Austria for instance and came away with many fond memories of new friends, cultures and experiences that I wouldn't trade for anything. I like adventuring, and I'm into intelligent conversation, philosophy, theology, computers, video games, photography, what beauty can be found through science, and friends. I currently work for tech support at a company in Rhode Island having to do with medical devices (EEG, PSG, etc.) and travel all around the U.S. installing lab systems. I find it fun. :)

Friends have called me a (sometimes) forgetful professor but I, of course, forget why. :P And OKCupid says I am geeky, truthful, and goofy.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living it, really. Like I say below, I'm trying to tie it together, understand what's going on, and have fun while doing it. Job-wise, I'm going more of a technology route and so far, I like it. Teaching technology to people with little experience can be difficult at times, but I find it rewarding when they finally understand what I'm trying to teach them. :)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Thinking (man, if they had a thinking decathalon, I would pwn), technologizing, creating words... the like. I'm usually reasonable, and I get passionate about what's true, and what can be reasoned out. I dislike not being precise, so I try my darnedest to explain myself as best as I can. Sometimes that's hard though. I'm an introvert. What can I say? I can do mathematik (but really out of practice), understand intuitively why a given system's not working, appreciate music, see beauty... I'm a mixed bag.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My razer sharp wit? I dunno. Probably that I'm a massive goofball.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

(a) Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz, The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams (funniest book ever written), Calvin and Hobbes Collections. I'm currently reading Isaac Asimov's Foundation Series, which is resonating with me pretty well. Oh, and A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller, Jr. was a most thought-provoking book.
(b) Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Battlestar Galactica [technically a TV Series, but who's counting - and it was mostly due to the amazing music of Bear McCreary); I enjoyed The Matrix Trilogy for what it made me think philosophically afterwards, others I can't think of right now...
(c) Gotye, Balmorhea, Whitetree, some of Sigur Ros, Postal Service/Death Cab For Cutie, Switchfoot, Sister Hazel, random video game music and associated remixes, Jack's Mannequin, some German pop music (Silbermond, Es ist Juli), Lifehouse, many others along the same veins.
(d) Pesto Chicken Pizza, anything with chicken in it, open faced sandwiches, provolone cheese, feta cheese, spinach, tomatoes, basil, oh my gosh so many others.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Not in any particular order:
The sound of rain falling outside,
the way wind fills a boat's sail and propels it forward,
the way some music at the right time is just... right,
understanding the concept of what choice is,
the way things flow/fluidity,
thought/sight/understanding.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How and why life is. Usually, I'm just trying to make sense of it all. There really is meaning and order to everything there is, you just have to learn to see it. Its very rewarding to make connections oneself and to find out that oftentimes others have thought the same, and wrote it down. I often find myself saying, "Oh, that makes so much sense now!" Those that have come before wrote things down for a reason. I'm just trying to understand those reasons and where everything fits. Yup, I think a lot. Way too much, actually. *rolls eyes* Then again, maybe others don't think enough. :P
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging with friends/family, watching movies/playing video games, reading, or sometimes out and about.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I listen to remixes of video game music... yeah, sometimes they're pretty catchy. :P
