Recently received this great compliment from a friend I met on here: "I like the way you interact. It's less pressure than a lot of people. I didn't need to put on airs. You smile, speak openly, express opinions, share knowledge, and you're...welcoming."
People tell me I'm kind of a hipster, but I'm not vegan, I don't ride a fixie, wear skinny jeans and I don't live in Lawrenceville. However, I appreciate good third-wave coffee, indie music, plaid, hand-rolled cigarettes/smoking a pipe, crafts, chucks, having a beard, drinking scotch and living a life of conscientious awareness with a desire for progressive change. I realize a lot of that is based on stereotypes, and find the irony of them hilariously identifiable.
I love drinking red wine and trying new craft/microbrew beers. Scotch enthusiast. Also like bourbon and whiskey. I'm always in search of a new great place to eat brunch. I like cats.
Just retook the Myers Briggs and came out as an ENFP. Was an ENFJ last time I took it.
I brew my own beer at home. So far, I've made upwards of 10 batches, and they're all pretty good! I haven't made any beer since before Christmas, because I made 3 different kinds to giveaway as holiday gifts and I still have some left. I made a Russian Imperial Stout, a Black IPA, and a Winter Holiday Ale. Then I designed Harry Potter-themed labels for all 3 :-) I've also made several IPAs, a Pumpkin Porter, and a Belgian Tripel.
I've been playing guitar for 10 years. I've written 20-30 songs, and have 20-30 I haven't finished. Yes, I will sing and play them for you :) I used to play open mic nights when I was in college, but haven't in years.
I really like burritos.
I'm kind of clumsy sometimes.
I'm really bad at remembering song titles, movie titles, actors names, and character names when I'm actually trying to make a point or refer to them in conversation. It's like a chronic brain fart hah.
I really really really hate the suburbs. The idea of living in them makes me wanna barf. Definitely a city person. There will be no white picket fence in my future.
I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan. I feel this is important to put out there. You will either find it adorably endearing or head shakingly nerdy.
Geeky/nerdy girls apply within.
Also, I think visible tattoos, freckles, septum piercings, and current/future cat ladies are very attractive :-)
Here's a couple of things that will make me sound like an ass:
It seems a lot of people on here like the characterize themselves as "down to earth". Know what that says to me? You're boring.
Apparently a lot of people "like to laugh and have fun". Really? You thought that was an important thing to point out about yourself? You know, I can't remember the last time I met a person who liked to laugh and have fun.
I will judge you by your tattoos.
I am a cat person. I've always known this and even grew up with a dog, but it's recently dawned on me that while I don't hate dogs, I really think they are literally just okay. Cats on the other hand, are amazing and wonderful creatures. I am weak to upside down kitty face, and silly cat videos. There's nothing more adorable or endearing than a cat pushing some random object across the floor, as if it's the best toy they've ever had. If you're a "must love dogs" woman... you've been warned.
