My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
DISCLAIMER: I'm an American who will be traveling throughout the UK and Ireland for a few weeks in May :) Edinburgh (2), Scottish Highlands (3), Islay (3), London (4), Cardiff (2) and Dublin (1). I'd love some suggestions of places to go, things to see, good places to eat and drink. I changed my location, in hopes that maybe some friendly people might want to join me for an adventure, or a pint :) So say hi!

Recently received this great compliment from a friend I met on here: "I like the way you interact. It's less pressure than a lot of people. I didn't need to put on airs. You smile, speak openly, express opinions, share knowledge, and you're...welcoming."

Liberal, feminist, scotch/bourbon/whisk(e)y and third-wave coffee enthisiast. Amateur awesome beard grower, craft beer home brewer, cat-obsessed man.

Just retook the Myers Briggs and came out as an ENFP. Was an ENFJ last time I took it.

I really really really hate the suburbs. The idea of living in them makes me wanna barf. Definitely a city person. There will be no white picket fence in my future.

I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan. I feel this is important to put out there. You will either find it adorably endearing or head shakingly nerdy.

I really like burritos.

I'm kind of clumsy sometimes.

I'm really bad at remembering song titles, movie titles, actors names, and character names when I'm actually trying to make a point or refer to them in conversation. It's like a chronic brain fart hah.

I've been playing guitar for 10 years. I've written 20-30 songs, and have 20-30 I haven't finished. Yes, I will sing and play them for you :) I used to play open mic nights when I was in college, but haven't in years.

Geeky/nerdy girls apply within.

Also, I think visible tattoos, freckles, septum piercings, and current/future cat ladies are very attractive :-)

Here's a couple of things that will make me sound like an ass:

It seems a lot of people on here like the characterize themselves as "down to earth". Know what that says to me? You're boring.

Apparently a lot of people "like to laugh and have fun". Really? You thought that was an important thing to point out about yourself? You know, I can't remember the last time I met a person who liked to laugh and have fun.

I will judge you by your tattoos.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a (full-time and freelance) graphic designer. I have my own place in Squirrel Hill. I have a car. An amazing girlfriend, who is also my best friend. Life is pretty darn good!

Started going back to the gym and eating better. Once the weather improves, I'll add riding my Raleigh Port Townsend bicycle back into the mix. If you want to go riding with me, drop me a note!

Planning my UK/Ireland trip of my dreams that's coming up in May.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Reading people. Design. Beard growing. Cooking. Organizing. Parallel parking. Kissing. Solving Rubix Cubes. Not doing the dishes (even though I purchased a dishwasher).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My beard. Then my glasses. And my tattoos if I'm wearing short sleeves.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My best friend
2. The Beatles
3. Red wine
4. Intimacy (Emotional and Physical)
5. Internet
6. My iPhone (sad but true)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What I'm going to do while in Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland! Super stoked.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
There's no good answer here that doesn't sound cliche or trite. I'm perfectly happy going out for drinks or doing dinner and a movie. Also, if I don't have any plans, I'm perfectly content to stay at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably one of the more important things to know about me is that I practice polyamory, also known as consensual non-monogamy. For those who don't know what this means, follow this link: I'm not against monogamy, and believe that for most people, its the best arrangement. Always interested and happy to talk to like-minded folks. However, I do not think that this defines who I am as a person, nor does it encompass all aspects of my life. I'm just a normal guy, with different dating practices.

– I periodically sleep walk.
– I'm afraid of bears, wolves and sharks.
– I like Harry Potter more than the average 12 year old girl.
– I'm also on FetLife.

P.S. Putting "I'm on OkCupid" in this section is not private. If anyone reads your profile, we already know this. You can do better than that.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
I will likely NOT message you first. Not because I don't want to, but rather because I know most people don't have the same approach to dating/relationships as myself. So...

If you are (most of the following):
– within 30 minutes of Pittsburgh (East End+++)
– liberal
– educated
– have your own place
– have a career
– well-read and musically well-versed
– nerdy/geeky
– you have tattoos or piercings
– are sexually progressive and open minded (note: this is not an offer, invitation or guarantee for sex)
– actively practice/interested in/curious about polyamory of other types of consensual non-monogamy

If you're under 28 but feel we have something in common and/or would get along famously, then go for it!

You should avoid messaging me if:
– You are from Cleveland/OH (last two gf's were from there; I'm done)
– You're even the slightest bit country

I had more here before, but it all just sounded negative. Best to focus on what I do want :-)
