My self-summary
People tell me I'm kind of a hipster, but I'm not vegan, I don't ride a fixie, wear skinny jeans and I don't live in Lawrenceville. However, I appreciate good third-wave coffee, indie music, plaid, hand-rolled cigarettes/smoking a pipe, crafts, chucks, having a beard, drinking scotch and living a life of conscientious awareness with a desire for progressive change. I realize a lot of that is based on stereotypes, and find the irony of them hilariously identifiable.

I love drinking red wine and trying new craft/microbrew beers. Scotch enthusiast. Also like bourbon and whiskey. I'm always in search of a new great place to eat brunch. I like cats.

ENFJ.

I brew my own beer at home. So far, I've made upwards of 10 batches, and they're all pretty good! Between my friends, family and I, we've drank all the Belgian Tripel and the Herbal-Citrus IPA I made most recently. I just had a beer brewing marathon, where I made a Russian Imperial Stout, a Black IPA, and a Winter Holiday Ale. Took me about 11 hours, but I now have 15 gallons of beer maturing in my closet hah.

I've been playing guitar for 10 years. I've written 20-30 songs, and have 20-30 I haven't finished. Yes, I will sing and play them for you :) I used to play open mic nights when I was in college, but haven't in years.

I really like burritos.

I'm kind of clumsy sometimes.

I'm really bad at remembering song titles, movie titles, actors names, and character names when I'm actually trying to make a point or refer to them in conversation. It's like a chronic brain fart hah.

I really really really hate the suburbs. The idea of living in them makes me wanna barf. Definitely a city person. There will be no white picket fence in my future.

I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan. I feel this is important to put out there. You will either find it adorably endearing or head shakingly nerdy.

Geeky/nerdy girls apply within.

Also, I think visible tattoos, freckles, septum piercings, and current/future cat ladies are very attractive :-)

Here's a couple of things that will make me sound like an ass:

It seems a lot of people on here like the characterize themselves as "down to earth". Know what that says to me? You're boring.

Apparently a lot of people "like to laugh and have fun". Really? You thought that was an important thing to point out about yourself? You know, I can't remember the last time I met a person who liked to laugh and have fun.

I will judge you by your tattoos.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a graphic designer for local tech company. I have my own place in Squirrel Hill with my cat, George. I have a car. An amazing girlfriend, who is also my best friend. Life is pretty darn good :)

In the brainstorming/planning/research stage of creating a social group.

How my cat can sit on my coffee table and nonchalantly knock everything on to the floor.

Why so many young ladies usernames on here end in "saurus." Do they want to be dinosaurs? :-P
On a typical Friday night I am
There's no good answer here that doesn't sound cliche or trite. I'm perfectly happy going out for drinks or doing dinner and a movie. Also, if I don't have any plans, I'm perfectly content to stay at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Probably one of the more important things to know about me is that I practice polyamory, also known as consensual non-monogamy. For those who don't know what this means, follow this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyamory. I'm not against monogamy, and believe that for most people, its the best arrangement. Always interested and happy to talk to like-minded folks. However, I do not think that this defines who I am as a person, nor does it encompass all aspects of my life. I'm just a normal guy, with different dating practices.

– I periodically sleep walk.
– I'm afraid of bears, wolves and sharks.
– I like Harry Potter more than the average 12 year old girl.
– I'm also on FetLife. Sub or bottom girls apply within.

P.S. Putting "I'm OkCupid" in this section is not private. If anyone reads your profile, we already know this. You can do better than that.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 28–50
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
I will likely NOT message you first. Not because I don't want to, but rather because I know most people don't have the same approach to dating/relationships as myself. So...

If you are (most of the following):
– within 30 minutes of Pittsburgh (East End+++)
– liberal
– educated
– have your own place
– have a career
– well-read and musically well-versed
– nerdy/geeky
– you have tattoos or piercings
– are sexually progressive and open minded (note: this is not an offer, invitation or guarantee for sex)
– actively practice/interested in/curious about polyamory of other types of consensual non-monogamy

If you're under 28 but feel we have something in common and/or would get along famously, then go for it!

You should avoid messaging me if:
– You are from Cleveland/OH (last two gf's were from there; I'm done)
– You're even the slightest bit country

I had more here before, but it all just sounded negative. Best to focus on what I do want :-)
