i love when people look really wholesome, and turn out not to be at all.

a friend of mine once told me that i'm easy to talk to because i'm hard to shock. that seemed like a pretty good compliment to get.

yes, i know i should get a face picture, but the nature of my job requires me to maintain a high level of discretion online. if we've exchanged a few messages and it seems like we might hit it off, then we'll see about it.

What I’m doing with my life

i'm lucky to be working in a field that i love, in a job where a paycheck is just the icing on the cake. now that i'm done with grad school, i'm realizing how tricky it can be to meet new people outside of work. everyone keeps saying, "put yourself out there!" but i have no idea where "out there" is.

I’m really good at

making music, following through, baking tasty stuff, being socially awkward, showing up to things unfashionably early.

The first things people usually notice about me

i look at least 5 years younger than i actually am. yes, i know you don't believe i'm 28, and yes, i'm sure i will appreciate it when i get to be 40.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

books: blankets, stuck rubber baby, hello cruel world, dykes to watch out for

movies/tv: once, young@heart, little miss sunshine, best in show/a mighty wind/waiting for guffman, amelie, extras, the british office, creature comforts, the golden girls, little britain

music: the mountain goats, sondre lerche, team dresch (really, all that 90's queercore), x-ray spex, the breeders, "classical" music (particularly that from the actual classical and romantic periods, and all that weird contemporary stuff).

food: (vegetarian) thai, indian, pizza, chocolate, quorn

The six things I could never do without

chocolate, npr, water, playing music, structure, and a pen.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

work, various creative projects, relationships.

On a typical Friday night I am

at my favorite coffee shop writing music, unwinding with my coworkers, going to a performance of some kind, or having a relaxed evening in with some odd video game.
