I am optimistic, easy-going, and bright.
My Self-Summary
Hi, I'm Dustin. I'm a student at Bluegrass CTC, where I'm majoring
in computer information technology. I'm planning to transfer to UK
once i get my pre-engineering courses out of the way.
I'm really laid back. You'll rarely see me upset over something.
Most things just aren't worth expending unnecessary energy over.
I'm also pretty friendly. I love making new friends, hanging out,
and being around other people.
I enjoy the usual outdoors stuff (camping, hiking, fishing, etc). I
love going to the pub/bar (BD's anyone?), LAN parties, and caving.
On any given night you'll probably find me hanging out with my
roommates and some friends playing Mario Kart 64 or other old,
awesome games.
My other hobbies/interests include: Dungeons and Dragons (3/3.5E
pls), fantasy books, programming, electronics, collegiate
wrestling, and more, just ask.
What I’m doing with my life
Getting involved with Collexion (http://www.collexion.net), an
up-and-coming hackerspace (communal work area) in Lexington.
Enjoying a semester full of interesting classes.
I’m really good at
- cooking.
- fixing computers and small electronics.
- math.
- discovering patterns.
- procrastinating.
The first things people usually notice about me
is that I'm pretty shy and reserved. I open up quickly though.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I absolutely love
psychological horror,
Japanese
horror, and
zombie movies; if it has a good
plot, and promises to be scary, I'll definitely watch it. I like
comedies, too,
and I love cheezy movies. Some of my favorite movies include
The Ring,
Dark Water,
Dawn of the
Dead,
The
Evil Dead,
The Sixth Sense,
Crank,
Rocky Horror Picture
Show,
28
Days Later,
Super Troopers,
Chasing Amy,
Clerks 2, and many more.
My favorite foods are
Mexican and
Chinese. It doesn't matter where it
comes from, though; if it tastes good, I'll like it.
I like all sorts of music, but my favorite genres are
rock,
metal,
oldies, and
trip hop. I'm also developing a taste
for jazz, especially
acid jazz.
As for books, my favorite author is probably Stephen King. His
Dark Tower
series is my favorite EVER. I also liked
Duma Key,
Eye of the Dragon,
The Langoliers, and
Dreamcatcher.
Other books I like are the
Night World series by L.J. Smith,
1984,
The Count of
Monte Cristo,
The Merry
Adventures of Robin Hood,
The Old Man and the Sea,
Of Mice and
Men, and others.
The six things I could never do without
- books
- the Internet
- my computer
- music
- mary jane
- my imagination
I spend a lot of time thinking about
life, religion, new forms of human-computer interaction,
engineering stuff, math
On a typical Friday night I am
hanging out with my roommates, enjoying a beer and my hookah.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I sort-of have an inner monologue.
I'm pretty absent-minded and often have weird, nonsensical ideas.
You should message me if
you think we have anything in common and would like to talk.
