Hello! So...I'm currently a programmer/researcher in Manhattan.

I like playing games (most sorts), cooking (trying to get better), watching the odd television show or anime series, wikipedia-surfing, parentheses and ellipses. I like the color green, I like bamboo (in all of its uses), and I like the number 8.

Napkins > tissues > toilet paper. And life is glorious!

What I’m doing with my life

Working as a software engineer at a reasonably well-known technology company. Oddly enough, I'm here on the east coast instead of out in California. But I guess that's just one of New York's perks - there's so much going on here, both in terms of work and fun!

Taking some classes working towards a M.S. degree. Nearly there! Mwa ha ha ha ha.

Myself, I think that I'm good at seeing the positive in all things and not getting overwhelmed by stress/evil/etc.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books - I tend to read a lot of fantasy (yeah, I know...). Favorite authors these days include Ursula K. Le Guin and Guy Gavriel Kay. Not Rowling.

Food - Noodles are probably in first place. What else? Chinese shaved ice thing (it's a dessert). Pizza? I'm really flexible.

Movies - I don't watch them often but I'm pretty open to lots of stuff (I'd like to think). Let's see...particular films I liked include: Stardust, Hook, Castle in the Sky, Princess Bride, the Cube, Sleepy Hollow, Enchanted, the Little Mermaid, Shakespeare in Love, Pirates of the Caribbean, X-Men, the Mask of Zorro. There're more for sure I'm not coming up with.

Music - Classical (romantic-era in particular - Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky), Asian (FIR, Yuki Kajiura, Shikata Akiko), Others (Sarah Brightman, Enya, Secret Garden).

The six things I could never do without

Pillows and blankets. Games. Friends and family. Computers. Contact lenses. Chopsticks.

On a typical Friday night I am

Gaming. Working. Movie. Dinner with friends? Probably a combination of the above, given that I go to bed kinda late. There's not really a typical Friday - it's whatever comes.
