I am tall, hazel-eyed, and interesting.

My Self-Summary

I am a relatively tall (6'3) divorced man with short salt-and-pepper (thinning) hair who has been out of the dating "scene" for some time. I have had many non-intimate dates and am at a point where I don't feel the need to consummate a relationship unless I like the person I'm with. To date a person in the first place, there's always a physical attraction. After getting to know person after a short while, there is either chemistry or not. If not, we part friends.

I was married for 13 years; I've been divorced for 18. I liked "belonging" to someone, and having a mutual deep emotional connection. I've been single for a lot longer than I've been married now, and I have really gotten used to the freedom that it entails: I travel on a whim, at a moment's notice to wherever my fancy strikes; I fall asleep in front of the television without worrying about neglecting a significant other. There are definite advantages to both situations. I'm not desperate to form a lifetime bond with someone, but I'm definitely open to it if it happens.

What I’m doing with my life

Not a lot right now. I aspire to something more though.

I’m really good at

initiating and maintaining interesting, witty conversation.

The first things people usually notice about me

is my height, then my eyes.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Walden Pond and Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau; Don Quixote by Miguel Cervantes.

The six things I could never do without

Hope; imagination; a sense of humor; connection with others; a sense of self; condoms (not necessarily in that order).

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Life, love, the universe and our place in it, and when this goddamned recession is going to be over.

On a typical Friday night I am

Think about what I'm going to do over the weekend.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I made a short video of myself masturbating years ago (something I NEVER thought I'd do) that I never showed anyone.

You should message me if

You're still interested after all of this.
