I am a relatively tall (6'3) divorced man with short salt-and-pepper (thinning) hair who has been out of the dating "scene" for some time. I was married for 13 years; I've been divorced for 18. I liked "belonging" to someone, and having a mutual deep emotional connection. I've been single for a lot longer than I've been married now, and I have really gotten used to the freedom that it entails: I travel on a whim, at a moment's notice to wherever my fancy strikes; I fall asleep in front of the television without worrying about neglecting a significant other. There are definite advantages to both situations. I'm not desperate to form a lifetime bond with someone, but I'm definitely open to it if it happens.
