My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Every day I strive to be better than I was the day before. Kinder, smarter, more productive, a better friend, a better daughter, etc. I like to work towards something, to avoid stagnation. I like learning new things and improving myself.

I'm fairly busy, mostly with dance. I'm also an introvert. This means I value my down time. I am one of those classic "quiet until you get to her" people, but I don't consider myself to be shy.

There are some nerd aspects to my preferences and personality. I like science and books and science fiction, but am not much into video games or comic books.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I typically go dancing 2-5 days a week. My dance of choice is Lindy Hop/East Coast Swing, but I also casually do beginning ballet classes a few times a week. When I'm not dancing or working I sometimes put on some music or a documentary and work on a puzzle.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm pretty good at explaining science concepts in an easy to understand way, since that is what I do for a living. I'm trying to be better at not caring if I look stupid when I dance.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I'm currently reading American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis. Recent favorites include Stranger in a Strange Land, by Robert A. Heinlein, Contact by Carl Sagan, Battle Royale by Koushun Takami and anything by Neil Gaiman.

I'm working my way through X-Files on Netflix, but I also enjoyed early How I Met Your Mother, Criminal Minds, Archer, and Psych.

Being a swing dancer, I like swing music, but I am also starting to get into other types of jazz, such as the cool jazz of Dave Brubeck (I could listen to Take Five all day). When I'm driving I mostly listen to NPR. When I'm sitting around and need some background noise I prefer Neko Case, Great Lake Swimmers, or Fleetwood Mac. I will also sing along to Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and select Taylor Swift songs.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-Curiosity and the means to satisfy that curiosity
-A few hours of relaxed downtime every week
-A meaningful job
-Dark chocolate
-Air conditioning
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How can I be a good person? Is it enough to not hurt others? What is my obligation to society, and am I fulfilling that obligation?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Typically, on Fridays I am tired from not getting enough sleep all week, so I lounge on my couch in my yoga pants, either working on my puzzle, watching Netflix, or reading a book. Occasionally I'm out dancing, where my dancing gets better with each beer I drink.
