I am unconventional, frank, and playful.

My Self-Summary

I'm newly divorced and I'm here looking for friendship. Most my friends are married so I'd like to meet some singles.

About me, I'm a feminist (which btw, doesn't mean I hate men. I love men! and get along with them better than women...it just means I believe men and women are equal), I'm opinionated, I'm complicated and high maintenance, and I'm crazy in-love with music. I am also very logical and I base my decisions on rationality. Irrationality drives me crazy to the point that it's like a pet peeve. Having said that, I am very sensitive as well.

I'm also a hardcore atheist and I do not call myself "spiritual." I am, however, very ethical.

I guess I should mention I am not fond of the outdoors. I run four miles daily and that's all the outdoor time I need. I'm much happier on a sofa reading a book, playing on my computer, or shopping.

I am not interested in anyone who is looking for sex or romance, who considers himself "easy going" or "go with the flow" (which I interpret to mean not opinionated and thus boring), or anyone who loves the beach in particular (as in, over other vacation spots).

What I’m doing with my life

I'm trying to adjust to being divorced and I'm looking for work. The rest of the time I'm playing with my children and spending time with friends.

I’m really good at

Photoshop and photography. I'm not great but I'm really into it and I think I have some talent.

I'm also good at arguing. Long intense extended heavy arguments are my specialty. ;) and "reading" people. I'm a very good judge of character and feel it's almost a talent.

I am NOT good at: cooking or dancing.

The first things people usually notice about me

My long hair maybe, I'm not sure.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I'm a vegetarian and I don't care much for food but I love beer. High quality, high gravity beer like Chimay, Ommegang, St Bernadus, and Spaten Optimator.

Music: Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake, Zep, Faces, Loving Spoonful, Love (Arthur Lee), The Kinks, Bowie, Brian Eno, King Crimson, Phoenix, Cake, Soul Coughing, Radiohead, Pixies, Devo, Norah Jones, Diana Krall, Sinatra, Michael Buble, George Harrison, classic Elton, Van Morrison, Abbey Lincoln, Cowboy Junkies, some John Mayer (but not all), Beta Band, Dylan, Sabbath, Tiger Lillies, Alison Kraus, Janis Joplin, James Taylor, CSN, Patsy Cline, and more. But most of all Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds.

movies: Idiocracy, Magnolia, Adaptation, Hannah and Her Sisters, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Unfaithful, After Hours, Kinsey, Irreconcilable Differences, The Big Kahuna, Boogienights, The Sound of Music, All That Jazz, Cabaret, She's So Lovely (Indie film with J. Travolta, Harry Dean Staton, the beautiful and talented Robin Wright Penn, and hubby Sean Penn. I think this is how they met), The Mothman Prophecies, The Shining, Fallen, Seven, The Paper, American Beauty, Crash, The Life of David Gale, LA Story, The Jerk, Meet The Parents, Slackers, Swingers, and more

Documentaries: The War (Ken Burns), Sicko, Capitalism, The Trials of Henry Kissinger, Supersize Me, and more

The six things I could never do without

music
running
love
sex
my camera
my computer

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What I will do for work and if I'll ever make a decent living, or anything close to the income I'm used to living on.

and

If I'll ever get back together with the one and only man I love

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I just did

You should message me if

You are unconventional or left leaning, if you love music, or if you are looking for someone who is different or interesting. If you also like to flirt and love to laugh, that's perfect.

Please DO NOT not message me if you are looking for a date, if you are in need of sex (boring and a turn off), if you are traditional, if you are religious, or if you are a twenty-something who does not know himself very well.

If you are under the impression that women are any less sexual than men or emotionally vulnerable somehow, you should not message me either. I've yet to find a man who is able to have a sexual or romantic relationship with me and not get emotionally attached.

AND LET ME REPEAT I am not here looking for sex!!! If you need to talk about the size of your penis, I really don't want to talk to you...I'm just not that desperate. Go figure.
