My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm pretty much a normal(-ish) person. I'm not too crazy. I'm usually pretty serious; I work hard and play hard. I like to have fun, too.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a teacher. I teach high school English.
I teach SAT classes sometimes, too.
I run 3-6 days a week.
I'm part of a board game group, a role playing group, and a writing group. These take up most of my weeknights.
I also recently wrote my first novel and am trying to work on revising/editing/eventual publishing.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm good at bringing out the best in people, at seeing the positive in most situations, at solving problems and getting organized, and at writing long but grammatically correct sentences. I'm good at board games and video games, too. Woot!
I am not so good at it, but I really enjoy rock climbing and would love to find a regular partner.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Eyes... I have pretty blue eyes. And a great smile. I smile often and easily. Not to mention my sweet personality.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
a) I love reading. That's why I'm an English teacher. I mostly enjoy contemporary literature, but I like a wide variety of books. I have a few all time favorites, including (but not limited to) The Dice Man by Luke Rhinehart, Anansi Boys and Stardust by Neil Gaiman, The Town That Forgot How to Breathe by Kenneth J. Harvey, Q&A by Vikas Swarup, The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, The Life of Pi by Yann Martel, and the series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. And anything by Dan Brown (although I was disappointed by Inferno). Currently reading: Twelve Years a Slave by Solomon Northrup.

b) In general, I enjoy a wide variety of genres--comedy, horror, musical, martial arts, and suspense. Some all-time favorites are Slumdog Millionaire and the Saw series. Most recent movie I saw in theaters: Frozen (don't judge me).

c) I like a variety of music, and I love concerts! My current favorite is Fall Out Boy. Most recent concert: Vertical Horizon, Tonic, and Dishwalla (Yes, I'm a 90's kid).

d) I like most foods except seafood. I love spicy foods, especially Indian and Thai.

e) TV: Top Chef, Project Runway, The Walking Dead, The Following, pretty much anything that is a reality/competition.

f) Video Games: Any RPGs. I grew up on Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior games. I love games like Skyrim and Dragon Age. Currently playing: L.A. Noire, Ryse: Son of Rome

g) Board Games: One of the highlights of my week is going to a local tabletop and RPG group. Some of my favorite games include Dominant Species, Warrior Knights, Spartacus, and City of Horror.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. a positive outlook
2. a gym membership
3. a credit card
4. my iPhone
5. the internet
6. a source of entertainment
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
whatever is on my mind at the moment. I think a lot. About pretty much everything. I tend to overanalyze.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
somewhere. There is no such thing as "typical" with me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a tendency to be passive. I've been actively working at being more assertive.

Oh, and my name. I'm Jesse.
